As I sit on the corner of Kat's bed, I realize that Jacklin and Melanie actually like Brandon, and are trying to get back at me for it. I sigh and flop down on the bed. I need Kat. She is fearless, and very sassy. She went out to get us ice cream, because ice cream makes everything better. Speaking of the devil...
"I'm here!" Kat's voice pulls me out of my thoughts. I haven't told her about Zane and Tucker, so I tell her everything. The whole time she stares at me with disproval in her eyes.
"How could you let them do this?" She asks. I stare at he and say,
"No, you don't get it. I don't know what they did." She sighs, and says,
"Give me 1 hour." And with that she walks out the door, leaving me with my thoughts and the ice cream. I decide to make the best of my time, and watch a movie while she's gone. I dig into the ice cream, also.

I hear shuffling in the kitchen down stairs, and so I go down to investigate. When I see what I see, my heart stops, and the hairs on the back of my neck rises. What. The. Heck.
"Ugh... I, um I don't think your suppose to be here..." I look at Kat's dad. Kat's dad got drunk when she was younger, and after some time, he left. She always said she didn't care, and he was mean anyways, but I could tell that he meant more to her. When he left, Kat stayed at my house a lot. Her mom and her don't really get along. Over time, it got better, and she started to stay at her own place.
"I need to talk to Carol." He slurs. I'm pretty sure his name is Richard. Of course, he has to be drunk. I look at him with doubt clear in my eyes.
"Well she's not here. She went on a business trip, and Kat's only home..."
Kat.
I look at the time. Shoot! She said one hour, and I have 7 minutes before that woman gets down here. She always meant what she said, and said what she meant. Her spunk is amazing. I envy everything about her. She is beautiful, caring, kind-
"Kat? She's here!" He yells to loudly. I sigh and lie.
"No, she's not here." The disappointment in his eyes makes me backtrack.
"I mean Kat- wait no. You did this to yourself, Richard." He laughs. I knit my eyebrows together, and then it clicks. He still drunk.
Time check. 3 minutes.
When the door opened, the blood stains from Kat's face. Behind her, Zane and Tucker are there, and I sprint to them, and jump on them.
"Omg! I was so worried! Ahh I love you guys." I squeal at I hug them tighter. Their faces relax at the sight of me, and they look behind me at worried sick Kat. These guys are like our brothers, which means that they have an overprotective side too. And it's showing.
"Dad...?" Kat's voice sounded far away.
Crap!
He's drunk! One time I remember Kat said, 'I bet when he comes back he will be better. And I tell you he will be back.' This time, the blood drains from my face.
"Kat, no!" She reaches in for a hug, and he stumbles backwards.
"Carol?" He slurs. Crapity crap crap.
"Kat come with me, I'll explain." I say in a rushed tone. I grab her elbow, and pull her into the bathroom.
"He's um, her drunk...." I explain.
The face she makes, makes me want to make him sober up, and become a better parent.
