"Toby?" I called my ex.
Why the heck did I call my ex?
Brandon.
That's why.
That annoying grasshole.
"Lily? Wait you are calling me? You know I still care about you." I sigh, and tell him the whole thing, and he gasps at times.
"Lily, nobody should do that to you. I'm coming." I let out a breath that k didn't know I was holding.
"Thank you, Toby."

"You look amaze balls! Oo! I'm jelly right now!" Kat, my #1 fan, chose a crop top that says selfie, and a black shirt, that let my long legs look...well longer. I grin as she smirks at her work. I have light makeup on, but it makes me look elegant, rather sassy. (I would totally go for the sassy look.)
Ding dong!
Toby! Here we go...
"Hey Toby. Ready?" I don't even notice what he's wearing. Honestly, I don't care. I made it pretty clear that we are just friends, and only friends. The look on his face makes me blush though. He gawks while looking me up and down, lingering at my legs. I shift uncomfortably.
"Ugh..." Toby snaps out of his imagination, and says,
"Yeah, ugh, let's go..."

We walk out the car door, and when we reach the door, I could already hear the drunk teenagers, attaching themselves to each other. I silently grunt as Toby opens the door for me. I smile in response, and he blushes.
Right when I walk in, somebody hands me a drink, and whistles.
"Look at you... fresh meat!" Some (hot) guy walked up to me, and I look around for Toby. Nowhere to be seen.
Great.
"Ok, listen buddy," I have no idea why, but my patience just dropped, oh I don't know, 20, 30, 200 levels. "I don't have time or energy for you, so you need to shut your mouth, or I will for you." I grab his hand that was making its way to the small of my back. I turn it harshly, and the jerk yelps.
"Son of a biscuit." I mumble under my breath. Oh, and guess what?
The jerk face doesn't stop.
"Heh. Sweetie, you don't scare me. I. Scare. You. Get it right." I give him a look that makes him flinch I stretch my smile into something fake, and slap the jerk in the face.
"Hey!" He rushes his hand to his face, to keep from bleeding on his shirt. I twist on my heel, and only then I notice that there was a crowd forming. I roll my eyes, and take a drink of my beer. It burns down my throat, and I immediately feel the the buzz of the alcohol.
"Toby! Hey!" I see Toby standing in a group of people, who look so familiar.
When I meet his eyes, I freeze.
Brandon.
Right after looking into his uncaring eyes, I grab Toby by the arm, and his lips meet mine. It starts out soft, but turns passionate very quickly.
Before I know what's happening, Toby is on the floor, and Brandon is punching his face. When I see the blood, I step in between them. This will not be a cliché moment. I will not stand here frozen with fear, because I do not fear. Somebody is hurting one that I used to love, and I will not have it.
I step in between the boys, and realize there is another crowd forming.
Great.
I rip Brandon off Toby, and punch Brandon in the face. Seriously, let me tell you, boys are jerks. But, I need to stop punching people.
"What the heck Lily! You're defending him?" His thumb points toward Toby, and his other hand is holding his bloody nose.
"Yes, Brandon, I am defending the person who did not kill my heart." I dig my nails into my palm, to keep from punching the stupidity out of him.
That boy.
"Whatever Lily. I love you. I need you to know that..."
"Shut up Brandon! Just... Stop talking!"
With that, I grab Toby's shirt, and pull him away from the house. I am never going back there if Brandon is going to be there.I sigh, and decide that I am not letting boys control my life anymore.
I am my own person.
Nobody owns me.
