Three months. It had been three months since Izuku Midoriya had been kidnapped and disappeared off of the face of the earth. Those three months were torture for many people, but none more so than the members of class 2A and their teachers. The disappearance of Izuku and their failure to find and rescue him weighed heavily on all of their minds. They had failed him, at least, that's how they felt.
They all tried their hardest to go about their lives, all the while not giving up hope, but it was a hard endeavour to undertake. Scarcely a smile had been seen amongst the class since Izuku's abduction. Some members of the class, Kirishima and Kaminari most notably, tried to cheer their friends up. They tried to alleviate some of the stress their friends were under through kind gestures and jokes, but such displays could only push back the sadness for so long. As soon as the rush of joy had left the class' systems, they were back to existing in a grey monochrome world of disbelief and apathy. The happiness that they rarely encountered inspired something like a drug high. For a brief, almost inconsequential, period of time, everything was right in the world; but that feeling soon abated and the class was left feeling as though something vital was missing from them.
Perhaps the worst affected by the events was Katsuki. He had never been the kindest person in the class, and he had never fully engaged in activities with everyone else, but something had changed in Katsuki. During the first few weeks, it was almost as if Katsuki was in a perpetual state of rage and desperation. He barely rested, either occupied with thoughts of his failings or forming plans that would only end up being rejected by his teachers. After the first month, Katsuki withdrew into himself, he didn't speak unless it was to randomly lash out at whoever was closest. Kirishima (being the closest to Katsuki in the class) tried to draw Katsuki out of his spiralling mental state, but it was a fruitless effort. He lashed out viciously, so much so that people in the class had started to actively avoid him whenever possible. The entire class understood his situation, but understanding didn't automatically mean that they had the ability to push through Katsuki's vicious words.
Classes had ended for the day, leaving Katsuki with nothing else to do but his homework and brooding in his room until it was time for him to cook his dinner, after which he would spend the entire evening in the gym or one of the faux cities. He returned to his room, as he did every day, and completed his homework- not that he was paying attention to it- before falling onto his bed and staring up at the ceiling, just like he did every day. That was his reality after Izuku had been taken from right beneath his nose. He ruminated on what he could have done and blamed himself for his boyfriend's disappearance.
Katsuki was well aware that Izuku would have beaten his ass if he ever knew that Katsuki was constantly blaming himself for his disappearance, but Katsuki couldn't help it. Izuku was right beside him, and it had been Katsuki's inability to act that had resulted in Izuku's kidnapping. Katsuki couldn't help but blame himself.
Suddenly, there was a knock at Katsuki's door. A monumental wave of disgust and annoyance wormed its way into Katsuki chest. It was sudden in onset and left a metallic taste in his mouth, his chest was weighed down by the sudden emotions that blurred his vision and corrupted his mind.
"Uh, Bakubro..." Kirishima's voice sounded hesitant as he spoke, but he powered onwards regardless of his obvious hesitance, "Everybody has been talking, and we really think that you should spend more time with us. We understand that you're naturally quite a lonely person, but spending all this time alone isn't going to help you in any way. We really think it would be best if you just... Came out of your room. We all miss Midoriya too and we all want to get him back, if we all put our heads together, we can come up with a plan to save him, right?"
