Anywayz!! I hope you like this ^^ i love writing fluff! It's fun putting fictional characters into cutesy lil wholesome situations :3 also!! Ik u said smthn abt them cuddling or smthn similar, and I apologize! If I did smthn based on them cuddling, the fic would be short asfff sobbibg- but anywayz!! Red Velvet wasn't exactly the type to be physically affectionate. A hug or passionate kiss from Red Velvet was something that was pretty foreign to Licorice. Licorice respected that Red Velvet was that way, and wouldn't dare hold it against him. Although Licorice did question Red Velvet's choice, he still wondered as to why he was like that. Was it because he didn't wanna give up his tough personality and be seen as soft? Or could it be because he didn't feel that way towards Licorice, but was lying about loving him? Even though he knew the second thought was untrue, it still worried him that it was a possibility, though he wouldn't hold Red Velvet's decision against him. He loved him way too much to get upset over something so insignificant. Licorice cherished every moment that Red Velvet gave in and got physically affectionate, though.

It was a cooler evening that evening, and Red Velvet was taking Chiffon out for a walk, with Licorice tagging along. Red Velvet was rarely seen with either Chiffon or Licorice by his side. "Hey, Red Velvet..? You mind if we uh..took a quick break before we head back to the tower?" Licorice asked, panting. Red Velvet stopped and looked at Licorice. He was panting softly, and clearly needed a moment to catch his breath. Licorice was definitely out of shape, but he wouldn't admit to it. "Dear..we've got a long way back..can you hold on for just a bit..?" Red Velvet asked. They had made it pretty far from the tower. So far, that their surroundings around them had taken a significant change: from dry, dead grass crunching as they took a step, to soft, luscious grass grazing softly against their shoes. "Please..? I won't complain or ask for anymore breaks after this..I swear!" Licorice whined, sounding awfully child-like with the way he kept on persisting. Red Velvet looked down at Chiffon, who had plopped down right next to Licorice's feet. Chiffon must've been a bit worn out as well. "Fine.. I don't see why not" Red Velvet sighed, smiling slightly. "Yesss! Thank you" Licorice said happily. He observed his surroundings and found a spot he thought would be a good place to take a quick break. Licorice led Red Velvet to the spot he had in mind and sat down, leaning against the tree. Red Velvet sat down next to Licorice, then undoing Chiffon's collar so he could run around and take a break from wearing a collar. Red Velvet never really liked putting a leash and collar on Chiffon because he saw it as unnecessary, but he had to, especially since Chiffon had the tendency to run off when he got excited. Red Velvet worried too much about Chiffon, only because he would hate for anything bad to happen to him. Chiffon got onto Licorice's lap, curled up and rested there. "He must really like you..that's so cute.." Red Velvet smiled. "Yeah..I guess he does.." Licorice said softly, carefully placing his hand on top of Red Velvet's. Red Velvet's eyes widened slightly, glancing down at their hands. "Do you not want me to do that..? If so I can stop-" Licorice said, moving his hand off,but before Licorice could move his hand from Red Velvet's, Red Velvet used his other hand to grab Licorice's wrist to stop him from removing his hand. "No. I mean...y-you don't have to..I'm okay with it. Just caught me off guard, is all. Sorry.." Red Velvet said, a bit awkwardly. "Alright.. If I get too touchy feely with you and you don't feel comfortable with it, please let know...alright? Last thing I wanna do is make you uncomfortable" Licorice smiled. Red Velvet nodded, then taking ahold of Licorice's small hand. His hand was tiny, boney, and a bit cold, but it fit almost perfectly in Red Velvet's hand. "Dear..? Can I tell you something..?" Red Velvet asked anxiously. Licorice nodded as he looked up at Red Velvet, who's facial expression was much softer than it usually is. "You know how I'm not exactly physically affectionate with you..? Yeah so...I can tell that really bothers you, and I'm sorry about that.." Red Velvet said apologetically. "Hey, it doesn't bother me that much, y'know.." Licorice mumbled, feeling bad for making it obvious that it did in fact bother him to some extent. "Licorice... My love...you don't need to lie to me..I know it bothers you. I'm sorry.. I just feel like you don't like it when I do that sort of stuff, so I try to keep physical affection to a minimum" Red Velvet sighed pathetically. "No..! I..I love it when you do that stuff..did I do something to make it seem as if I don't like it..?" Licorice asked as he gently picked up Chiffon and set him on the ground, being careful to not wake him up. "You sometimes say stop it, so I assume you don't like it" Red Velvet said softly. "Oh..you're right..I do say that..I don't actually mean it, though. I'm just..not used to getting physical affection, y'know?" Licorice tried explaining. "You sure? I don't want to be too...affectionate or anything.. I just don't want to make you uncomfortable, is all.." Red Velvet said, gently cupping Licorice's face with his hand. "Hey... I promise that you haven't made me uncomfortable with anything you've done.." Licorice smiled softly. "Swear..?" Red Velvet asked, leaning in a bit closer to Licorice's face. "I swear.." Licorice murmured, eyes fluttering shut as he leaned in and gently kissed Red Velvet. Red Velvet pulled Licorice closer, deepening the kiss a bit, smiling into the kiss.

On the way back to the tower, Licorice walked right beside Red Velvet, holding his hand whilst intertwining their fingers. Licorice couldn't help but feel extremely relieved, an unnecessary weight taken off his shoulders. He was glad that their feelings were still mutual, and that he finally got the answer as to why Red Velvet wasn't that physically affectionate. After that little moment they had shared, both boys felt like they had just fallen in love with each other again for the first time.
