Your Hands Are Cold..Let Me Hold 'Em (Fluff)

I'm writing for myself for once :>
A bit of an early Christmas thing since I'll be busy throughout the entirety of next week and won't have time to write and post a Christmas themed fic by then :-(
I plan on making this REALLY sweet 'n wholesome since I'm a sucker for Christmas fluff ;w;

The weather outside was chilly, but nice enough to be out without freezing as soon as you step outside. Red Velvet took his chance to take Licorice out on a date. Licorice wasn't too fond of colder weather, but as long as he was with Red Velvet, he didn't care. "So..what're we doing? Where are we goin'?" Licorice asked excitedly as he started getting ready to go out in the cold. "I don't want to ruin the surprise... You wouldn't want that either, would you?" Red Velvet asked, as he nervously fidgeted with a small box in his coat pocket. "Well...no...but I wanna have some idea...." Licorice mumbled. "I promise you'll love what I have planned" Red Velvet said with a smile.
At least I hope you will....

The two took a shortcut through the forest to get to their destination. "A-Are we almost there..? I-I...'m cold..." Licorice shivered. "Yep! Oh! By the way...you know how to ice skate..?" Red Velvet asked with a small smile. "Wh-What?? N-No..?" Licorice stuttered. "Great! Want me to teach you how?" Red Velvet asked, grabbing ahold of one of Licorice's hands. Licorice nodded. "Sweet. Want to stop at the coffeeshop to warm up first? You seem like you need it" Red Velvet asked softly, gently tugging Licorice in the direction of the coffeeshop. "Y-Yes please.." Licorice said with a shy smile. As soon as they walked into the coffeeshop, Licorice let out a sigh of relief. The two sat down at a table near the windows of the shop. "How close is the ice skating rink from h-here..?" Licorice asked, rubbing his hands together to try and warm them up. Without hesitation, Red Velvet grabbed ahold of Licorice's hands as an attempt to help warm them up. "It's about a block away...good thing we stopped here first, huh?" Red Velvet said with a soft smile. "Y-Yeah...I couldn't really feel my hands.." Licorice laughed. "What do you want? Coffee? Hot chocolate? Anything?" Red Velvet asked as he reluctantly let go of Licorice's hands and got up. "Just a hot chocolate would be fine.." Licorice said as he took off his coat since it was warm in the coffeeshop.

He's in an awfully good mood right now...too chipper for him...he's definitely got somethin' up his sleeve...but..what could it be though...? Licorice thought to himself as he started to zone out. "Hey! Is Licorice in there? Hellloooo? I got our drinks" Red Velvet said, waving his hand in front of Licorice's face. "Ah! Sorry..." Licorice apologized shyly. "It's alright, dear..just didn't want your drink to get cold on ya..." Red Velvet said as he set Licorice's drink down in front of him. "Hey, you seem extremely...chipper tonight..more than what you usually are when we're together....you good?" Licorice asked, carefully taking a drink of his hot chocolate. "I'm fine...I just..really enjoy this time of year. I never really got to enjoy it a whole lot as a kid, so being able to enjoy it now and with you just...makes me really happy..that's all" Red Velvet said shyly as he took a drink of his hot chocolate as well. "That's..so sweet of you.." Licorice said softly, smiling like an idiot. "I'm just being honest.." Red Velvet sighed, nudging Licorice's foot with his own. As the two finished off their drinks, Licorice looked at Red Velvet's facial expression. There's definitely something going through his mind right now...and it must be bothering him pretty bad... Licorice thought to himself as he stood up. "Hey, I'm ready..are you?" Licorice asked. "O-Oh! Yeah, I'm ready" Red Velvet nodded as he got up as well. Both threw their empty cups away and started to head to the ice skating rink.
