"I'm on cloud nine!"

"He accepted my confession, not yours. You do realize that, right?"

Sunday afternoon, Yamaguchi invited himself to Tsukishima's, with the man's favorite dessert. His intention was to retrieve the information about his best friend's love life; however, very obviously, Tsukishima would never open up something like that so easily.

"Yeah, but I am expressing the exhilaration on your behalf too, Tsukki." Yamaguchi spoke out as if it was the most obvious thing. He picked the strawberry that had been used for decoration off his shortcake and put it on his friend's plate as he knew the man really enjoyed them.

"You don't have to, Yamaguchi. We are not kids anymore." Albeit the comment, the blonde popped in the strawberry, slightly smiling.

Yamaguchi shrugged. "Habits die hard, Kei-kun." For years, he had been giving off his strawberries to Tsukishima since he loved them dearly. "Anyway, have you asked him on a date?"

Frowning, the blonde looked up from his treat and gave his friend a puzzled look. "What?"

"Date." Yamaguchi repeated himself loudly. "Um, couples usually do that."

Upon being called a couple, Tsukishima scrunched his nose to restrict his smile that was about to break onto his lips. "Keyword; couples."

"Yes. Such as you and him." Yamaguchi acknowledged. "Just because he doesn't feel as strong as you, wouldn't change that he has a thing for you."

"Well, um- you are right... but, but I don't think I am ready to, erm, y'know, go out with him, spend time alone." The man mumbled sheepishly, keeping his eyes on the now empty dessert plate. "I, uh, around him, I act stupidly. I do weird things which is surprising." The memory from the other evening surfaced in his mind, immediately making him jittery. He was still very much annoyed by Oikawa for disturbing their little moment. Although he had an idea what the boy was hinting towards, he wanted to listen the same from his mouth.

"Ehh? I'm so curious!" Yamaguchi leaned forward on the table with his hands on either side of his plate, interrogatively ogling the blonde's face. "What happened?"

"Nothing!" Tsukishima was quick to dismiss him, picking up their plates and quietly sauntering over to the sink to clean the dishes. As if he would ever dare to recite the incident out loud and add more to his embarrassment.

"Quite unconvincing, Tsukki."

Tsukishima peeked over to glare at his friend, lips curled into a frown.

"Okay, fine, I won't bug you anymore." It was quiet for a while before Yamaguchi, quite annoyingly loud, cleared his throat to have his attention. "So, um, a date?"

"No. I don't want to rush into things before everything is established enough."

"Established enough?" Yamaguchi quoted the phrase in a mocking manner, breathing out a silent chuckle. "Why do you overthink things, Tsukki?"
