The reason you will die and yet live

You and Peter were now discussing his superpowers and his spandex suit along with Thor feeling like he had to mention he's the God of Thunder with every opportunity which had you in hysterics when a voice made you jump.

"Can all avengers report to gym set 5, no walking, we need to wrap this up quick guys." Natasha speaking through F.R.I.D.A.Y.'s microphone system.

Peter jumps up and waits for you to get up and you both start heading to the elevator.
"I think me and you are going to get along." Peter said
"Yeah me too."

You and Peter head to gym set 5 with all the weights and you see almost everyone look at you.
"Ah y/n we were just talking about you. Trying to get everyone up to date." Tony said.
"All the good stuff I hope." You say not jokingly.
Everyone talks for while then Thor and Bruce walk through the doors laughing and Thor slapping Bruce's back nearly shoving him over.
"Oh yes this is the lady y/n you were talking about. Nice to finally meet you. I'm Thor Odinson and I am the God of Thunder."
"Cool, nice to meet you too." You say while looking at Peter trying not to laugh.

"Me, Steve, Clint, Wanda, Vision and Rhodey are all heading to South America for a few days. We have to check up on the new shield bunker. Nat is in charge while we are gone. Then when we come back on the Wednesday you all better be ready for board game night.'' Tony said. 
"Board game night?" You ask and all eyes darted to you.
"Yeah, monopoly, uno, scrabble. It's really fun we all go in pjs." Peter says smiling and you get the vibe he loves it.
"You mean you, Scott, Thor, Tony, Wanda and Sam go in pjs." Clint says with his arms folded not trying to hold in his grin.
Everyone now bursting out with laughter at clints comment.

After the announcement things started to get easier. You went out for coffee with Bucky and you started training with Nat. You went back into your room to go get showered because you were all sweaty.
You slipped off your sports bra, sweatpants and underwear. You turned the shower on to cold and moved into the water shivering but calming down slowly.

The door opened slightly and you heard a voice.

"Y/n? You in here?" Peter asked without looking.
"Yeah. What's up?" You asked.
"I can't find the remote."Peter said.
"Just ask F.R.I.D.A.Y. I'll be out in 1 second." You replied.
"Ok sounds good." Peter says walking away to find the remote.

You wrap a towel around you and find some warm, cozy sweater and comfy bottoms. Your hair still wrapped up in a towel you head down the stairs and see the tv. You look in the mirror and realise you didn't get all your mascara off. But it would be fine. Peter isn't the type to judge somebody because of their appearance. That's why you quite liked the spider guy.

"I thought you might like the office." Peter said smiling brightly at you. "I got popcorn and hot chocolate and some skittles. I don't know if you like skittles but I thought it didn't really matter you can choose. Oh and I got us blankets and pillows so we can build a pillow fort."
"Thank you Peter." You say pushing back the tears. You really couldn't remember the last time you had felt so comfortable.

"It's no problem. I can finally do all this stuff instead of Thor breaking it. It's nice to have someone around now. After aunt may and happy got together I didn't want to be their "kid" so I thought it would be better to stay here. After all I am needed here more than with may, she has happy to look after her." Peter says while fiddling with his fingers.
"You care about your aunt, a lot." You say trying to understand him.
"She's all i got. My parents died, uncle Ben died and I don't think I could cope if aunt may died." Peter said looking up at you with bright eyes.
"Don't think about it too much. Everything is ok and everyone dies, you just have to learn to cope with it." You say feeling what you felt in your timeline.
"And you have?" Peter asks.
"Yeah, yeah. My brother and my mum." You say while sitting down beside him holding his hand. "But they are in a better place now."

"I'm so sorry y/n." He said squeezing your hand.
"No need to be, left it all behind to start a new, better life." You say lifting your hands up and dropping them down again.
"I don't think you left it all behind." Peter disagrees.
"I literally changed timelines. I would say that's leaving it behind." You say confused.
"You can't ever leave it behind. It's just natural." Peter now looking all across your face.
"Maybe." You say.
He had this glint in his eyes. You both worked well together. He would balance you out. You didn't realise it at the time but that glint, the extra weight balancing would be the reason why you would die and yet live.
