Chapter 6 - Saiken To Battle!

I want to fight enemies! There's no one around and patrol has been so boring. I spent my entire night making this awesome sword and for what?! Just for show? Where are the hilichurls!

Anyhow I managed to convince Paimon to follow me and hunt for some lunch. She knows a good location for boars and all that so while Amber and Lumine collect plants and ingredients for lunch- I have to get the meat.

Now that it's just me and Paimon I should probably ask her something.

"Hey Paimon. Lumine and Amber a thing or..?"

"Paimon thinks they're just friends." She floats around without a care and continues to search for a boar.

"Well.. I don't know about you but Amber is more red today. Do you even pay attention to them chit chatting?"

"Not really. Paimon usually daydreams and think about food. Ohh what's for lunch today? Paimon is already hungry."

Let's find some boar and head on back to camp. These big fellas should be somewhere, but I don't see any signs of life aside from vegetation. We need a higher vantage point, but up on some hill or cliff is exhausting.

Soooo I'll just be up on the trees and see if I have a better view of the forest. I'm sure to find a boar this way now that my field of view has increased. That being said though.. I don't see any animals despite being on top of a tall tree.

In fact I don't see anything! No small mammals running around or birds flying about. I don't smell anything so either they migrated else where or been hunted to extinction. I don't seen any clues about any animals whereabouts but it looks like there's been a lot of human activity.

I see a lot of human footprints and torn bushes, brambles, broken twigs, and whatever mess they left behind. So the boars probably got scared off and ran away. Still..

I would see some boar prints on the ground or something. It's like they all vanished without a trace!

"Maybe we should get some fish instead of red meat. We're near Starfell lake and there's plenty of fish around!" Paimon floats around me and then descends downwards to ground level.

Guess I have no choice but to follow Paimon and start fishing.

"Hey, Paimon."

"Hmm?"

"Do you belong in this world?"

"Ohh- umm.. Yes? Paimon knows a lot of things about Teyvat." Paimon looks really unsure and to be honest..

Who the fuck is Paimon?? I have no idea what she is! Well she's been friendly and helpful so I guess she's useful to Lumine or something. Anyways aside from the mystery about Paimon- I can smell the lake and flowers around.

I see birds flying around, but no boars and those small rodents aren't tasty I bet. Lumine and Amber are collecting apples, sunsettia, mint, pine cones..? Pinecones??

"Any luck?" Amber places down the ingredients in a basket as she also begins to start a fire under the pans and pot.

I nod my head sideways and sigh. No meat and I found it difficult to talk to Paimon. It wasn't a productive hunt that's for sure.

"Paimon suggested that we'd go fishing because there was no boar around. I couldn't find any boar tracks nor was there any scent. It's like they all disappeared and there was no sign of them migrating. I did notice that there was human activity so I don't know if it's alarming or not."
