Hustle and bustle could be seen in the Shah mansion as it was the mehndi ceremony of Shah's elder grandson and younger granddaughter. Servants were running here and there to complete their tasks. Some were busy decorating the house, especially the lawn as the function was going to be held there.
The ladies of the Shah mansion were busy with the last arrangements. They were ordering the servants to do everything perfectly. The men had the responsibility to send invitations. It was decided to invite only close relatives to the Nikkah while the reception would be held on a larger scale.
"Where is he? Someone tell him that it's his marriage. If he doesn't want to do it, he can tell us. It's his decision," Amna Shah said in anger. They last saw him on the date fixing two weeks back. He arrived in the evening that day and went back after dinner. He just ordered on the phone that he wants to have the Nikkah earlier.
"Relax, begum," Haider Shah tried to calm down his wife, but she glared at him in response.
"Mama, today is only a girls function, and you know Bhai doesn't like such events. He will come, don't worry," Arham said, but she got up from there in anger. All sighed.
"Where is he?" Now Jameel Shah inquired. Although it was a ladies' function, he had to be present at home.
"He said he will come tomorrow," Arham replied.
Meanwhile, in Alizey's room, the girls surrounded her. Dresses and jewelry were spread all over the bed while she sat in the corner. The girls were practicing some songs for tonight, while Faiqa and Hamna teased her by mentioning Jahan's name, making her blush.
"Girls, hurry up, and start getting ready. The beautician is on the way, so keep everything ready for Alizey and recheck," Amna Shah said as she entered the room. They all nodded.
"We are here with you always. You are our daughter first," Amna Shah said to Alizey, as she sensed her sadness. Every girl needs her parents beside her at this moment. She hugged her in response.
"Haan!" Alizey asked, wiping her tears. Amna Shah shook her head, indicating no.
Is Jahan not happy with the marriage? But he wants to marry her, and that too earlier! Many thoughts came to her mind. She was worried. She knew that Jahan was a bit different from other guys. He was reserved. But he had always been kind to her. She hoped that everything would be alright.
The garden looked enchanting with the lights and flowers. Mehndi songs played as guests started arriving.
Monotone dupattas were tied up horizontally, with fairy lights and bulbs hanging, creating a beautiful illusion. Instead of chairs, thakts were placed, having pink covers and multi-colored cushions. A stage was made in the middle, and cushions were placed around it. For the bride, the swing was decorated with pastel colors.
