As the mobile alarm rang, she moved her hand on the bed and, on finding it, turned off the alarm with closed eyes, going back to sleep. Yesterday, she had finished her exams and was now on a three-week semester break, and she was in no mood to get up early. Speaking of Jahan, he had been busy with work and hadn't been home for two weeks, but he made sure to call her every day, even if it was just for five minutes. Being an understanding wife, she didn't complain but assured him that she was fine.
After two months of being married, it had been a total bliss—building a family, experiencing their love, and having caring elder brothers and a loving husband.
She lazily opened her eyes and checked the time on her phone. It was 12:30 in the afternoon. After checking a few notifications, she messaged Jahan.
"Good Afternoon ☀️
Just woke up, was tired because of exams...
How are you?
Come soon... Love you ❤️🤗💋"Getting out of bed, she had a relaxing bath. She dressed in simple clothes and went downstairs, where she found her mother-in-law in the kitchen, giving orders to the servants.
"Assalamualaikum, mama," she greeted her, back hugging her.
"Waalaikumassalam. How is my daughter?" Her mother-in-law kissed her forehead lovingly.
"Fine. Sorry, I woke up late because I was tired."
"It's okay. I didn't wake you up either because I know how stressed you were due to exams," her mother-in-law said, running her hand through her hair.
"Thank you, mama. You are the best." She hugged her like a child.
She was no less than her mother; she never felt like she didn't have a mother.
"Now tell me what you want to eat!" her mother-in-law asked.
"I'm craving Alu Paratha," she replied, licking her lips.
"Go check on your grandmother and ask her if she wants to eat. Meanwhile, I start prepration," her mother-in-law said, to which she nodded.
Walking through the corridor towards her grandmother's room, she met some servants who greeted her warmly, as she was adored by everyone in the house.
"Assalamualaikum, Dadu," she said upon entering the room, seeing her grandmother reading a book.
"Waalaikumassalam, my child. Thank God I saw your face. You've lost so much weight," her grandmother said, putting her glasses and book on a side table.
"Relax, Dadu. I am fine," she said, holding her hand. She smiled at her beloved.
"Where is Dada Jan?" she inquired, as he usually would be in the room at this time.
"He went to the office today," her grandmother replied.
"Come, let's have Alu Paratha," she said, holding her grandmother's hand and taking her outside.
She moaned as she took a bite of the paratha dipped in mint yogurt. A few minutes later, her aunt arrived, and now the ladies of the Shah mansion were enjoying Alu Paratha under the sun, gossiping about everything and anything.
Her phone beeped, indicating a message from Jahan.
"Hi Baby ❤️
I am fine. How are you?
Hope to come soon as possible and spend time with you...
Miss you and love you loads ❤️🤗💋"She smiled reading his message. Her attention returned to the ladies, who were now discussing Dawood's wedding.
"Her name is Amna. Dawood has approved of her," Aleena Shah said.
"Mashallah, that's good. Let's finalize the proposal quickly," her grandmother said.
After sharing more details about the girl and her family, it was decided to inform the men in the Shah family and proceed from there.
Later, she spent the day with her family, chatting and ended her day by watching a series and enjoying McDonald's. He smiled as he saw his angel sleeping peacefully. He had come home late and now watched her through a laptop connected to the camera in their room. How could he sleep without seeing her?
