She attempted to shift her position in her sleep, but it felt as if someone was enclosing her. She blinked her eyes two to three times, glancing downward to find a masculine hand enveloping her own, belonging to her husband.
"Don't move," he instructed as she struggled to break free from his grasp.
Ah! His husky morning voice... she mused.
"Please," she pleaded, yearning to see him, her eagerness palpable.
He loosened his hold, allowing her to turn towards him, facing his presence. His unruly stubble, in need of a trim according to her, his defined jawline, pointed nose, and slightly overgrown hair, all emanated an aura of dominance, yet all of it belonged to her man.
"Stop staring, my love," he remarked, still keeping his eyes closed.
"I missed you," she whispered, wrapping her hands around his neck.
"I missed you even more," he mumbled in return, burying his face in the curve of her neck.
She placed the teapot on a wooden food cart and wheeled it into the dining area. Now that Jahan was back, she prepared breakfast for him.
"Check if there's anything left," she instructed one of the servants.
"Lizey, sit down, my child," her mother-in-law said. She had been in the kitchen for two hours, but she was happy to see her children happy.
"Yes, Mama, everything is ready," she replied.
Since it was Sunday, everyone was at home, including her aunt and the children.
"Assalamualaikum," Jahan greeted loudly as he entered the dining area.
"Walaikumassalam," everyone responded, and he greeted them.
They all began their breakfast. She poured tea for Jahan.
"Why did you come without informing me!" he whispered, adding another pancake to her plate.
"To make breakfast," she replied.
"You'll have to pay for this, my love," he huskily said, caressing her thigh. She shivered at his touch.
While discussing Dawood's wedding proposal, they finished their breakfast. But before Jahan made an announcement, shocking her.
"We are leaving for Maldives tonight."
"Suddenly!" his grandfather exclaimed, as Alizey hadn't even mentioned that.
"Since both of us are on vacation, I decided..."
Later, the men discussed business and other matters while the ladies completed their tasks.
She paced back and forth in the room, feeling unsettled by his sudden plan to go to the Maldives, especially tonight. He hadn't even mentioned it to her beforehand.
He entered the room and found her sitting on the bed, her lips pouted and an angry expression on her face. He smiled, finding her incredibly cute when she was angry.
"What happened, Meri jan?" he asked, standing in front of her and kissing her forehead.
"You didn't inform me about the plan!" she pouted.
"Can't I give my wife a surprise? Is there a problem?" He gently removed her hair clip and brushed her hair.
"No, but..." She tried to speak, but he showered her face with pecks, causing her cheeks to turn red.
"But what, my love?" He teased her by brushing his lips against her earlobe.
"Why did you leave me alone in bed?" he asked, giving her a playful push to make her fall onto the bed.
"I..." She stammered.
"When I'm at home, you should be with me all the time. Got it!" he ordered, kissing the corner of her lips. She let out a soft moan.
"Words, janum," he reminded her, as she simply nodded in response.
"O...okay," she finally said, and he kissed her again. Damn! It had been almost two weeks since he last kissed his wife. He missed her so much.
He gazed at her, lying beneath him, her breathing heavy, eyes closed, mouth slightly parted, cheeks flushed-she was entirely his, his wife, and his alone.
He kissed her once more, passionately exploring her mouth with his tongue. Her lips tasted like strawberries. Breaking the kiss, he embraced her, and she reciprocated by wrapping her arms around him.
They lay peacefully in each other's arms, listening to their heartbeats. However, their trance was interrupted by the sound of the phone ringing. He groaned.
"Pack your bags," he said, kissing her forehead before leaving the room. She smiled, feeling happy. Tidying herself up, she packed their belongings for the trip to the Maldives.
