Chapter eight

By now I was shitting myself, it was friday and I started school on Monday. I'm not really a shy person but school? Yeah schools my weakness. Fucking hate it.

Mom switched through the Netflix options, we hadn't really done a lot today since it was her day off which must have been a relief for her. "What do we feel like?" Grams said from the kitchen, flipping a page in her cook book.

"What do you mean?" I mumbled down from my phone, readjusting my position so my legs were half way in the air.

"Oh, lily, sit a lady will you?" Mom sighed, putting down the remote and giving me a pitiful look. "What? I'm comfy." I scoff, going back down to my phone.

"Have you got everything ready?" She tilted her head, I immediately clenched my jaw at the thought of going to school. Before it didn't seem so bad, but now? Rethinking it all.

"Can someone answer me?!" Grams said in frustration, readjusting her glasses so she could see better. I struggled to lift my head but managed to see what she was talking about, "I think you should make your sugar cookies," I nodded before laying flat down again.

"Perfect," she said, putting the book down, "I've got all the ingredients!" I heard her voice trail off as she wondered into the pantry.

Mom finally decided on a channel, I wasn't paying attention to the inaudible noises in the background before she spoke, "Have you seen Chase lately?"

"Chase?" She nodded, I bit my lip before turning back to my phone, "How come you never ask about anyone else, all you talk about is Chase?"

"Because you both seem close, I mean the other night he was carrying you bridle style up too your room." I looked back to that night, all I remember is watching some weird action movie then waking up face to face with chase.

"It was just a sweet gesture." I said simply, pretty much avoiding to make a big deal out of it.

"Yeah, one sexy gesture." Grams tangoed back into the kitchen.

"Grams!" I jolted up, gaping at her.

"Yes, my dear?" She looked at me with wide eyes. "Stop saying sexy all the time." I said firmly.

"No," was all she said, "so is your sexy boyfriend coming over soon?" I threw my head back with a groan, falling back onto the couch. "Can we not talk about him. I mean he's not even my boyfriend, we're best friends! You watched us grow up."

"And I want to watch you grow old together." She winked.

"You'd be ancient then." I snorted. "Aha, ancient with a wise mind." She raised a finger before going back into the pantry to get the rest of the ingredients. Within that time the doorbell had rung, "Who ordered something?!" I yelled as mom gestured for me to go get it.
