Chapter nine

"Lily! Chase is waiting, hurry up!" Mom called from downstairs as I rushed round the room, picking up small things I didn't need and throwing them in my bag.

What if I get my period?

What if I forget my phone?

I looked over at the time, it was already 9:15 and we start at half past.

"I'm coming!" I scream, it took me an hour to actually make myself look presentable from the yucky state I was in when I woke up. I haven't even had breakfast. Fuck sake.

"I can't be asked," I sighed, looking over at my unmade bed. Grabbing hold of my bag and legged it downstairs, Chase was leaning against the door frame in the front door, and I swear my heart did a little jump at how good he fucking looked.

"You look nice," he sounded genuine, his head tilted while his eyes slowly going down my body. "Not to bad yourself, sunshine." I said breathlessly as I ran round the counter to hug grams goodbye.

"Have a good day, lils!" She smiled, waving me goodbye.

"You got everything?" Chase asked, looking down at me. "No," I gave him a faint smile before giving mom a hug. "Right, don't fight anyone, don't be late and.." she trailed off, most likely forgetting what she was gonna say.

"What do you mean fight—" I looked at chase, who only gave me a blank look. I frowned, looking back over at grams and mom, "You told them, didn't you." I sighed defeatedly.

"Mhm," he chuckled lowly, "only because you were taking like a whole fucking century to get ready." I felt his hand skim mine as I was assuming he was trying to get us going.

"Okay, have fun today, tell me all about it when you get home." Mom embraced me with one of her hugs, gently running her up and down my back. "I will." I smiled, waving her goodbye.

"Take care of her!" Grams pointed a finger at chase, he raised his hands in defeat, "With my life." Grams nodded approvingly, "He's the one, lily."

"Oh be quiet." I gushed before dragging him to the car.

"Your in a rush?" He asked, opening the car door for me. "Only because I'm not being late for my first day, and thank you."

"Well, you're already late." He sneered, putting on his shades and looking in the front view mirror.

"Well hurry the fuck up then." I muttered, blinking at him as he looked like he was purposely taking his time. "You look really good in sunglasses." I blurted out, finding it rather hard to tear my eyes away from him.

"Oh yeah?" He gave me a snarky grin before starting the car, reversing the car and driving off.
