Chapter eleven

It was thankfully Friday and I was more than exhausted, Mom and grams went out to stay with some old friends so I had the house to myself. I watched a few movies before face-timing my dad, which, he was over the moon with excitement when I said I wanted to call.

"You look so grown up already, and it's only been a few weeks." He admired me through the screen, I gave him a big smile.

"I'm sure I'll see you soon?" I asked.

"Yeah, hopefully I can get some tickets to come over there, definitely by Christmas at the latest." Before my parents got divorced, I wasn't close with my dad, at all really. Most nights he went out drinking and only came back once I fell asleep.

Before we moved to England, he promised both mom and I that he would cut off drinking and that he had a new, professional job that he was going to be doing.

Over the three years we became much closer, and he slowly became my best friend.

"Mhm, hopefully you do." I gave him a weak smile.

"I miss you, sweetheart." He sighed, giving me a crooked smile. My heart clenched at the thought of him being alone all he time, no one to come home too, no one to have those late night talks with, no one to hug.

"I miss you more," I said weakly, letting out a deep sigh.

"Anyways, I'll let you get going, I'll call you soon, okay?" He remarked.

"Okay," I scrunched my nose before waving, "Bye, I love you."

"I love you too, darling." He blew a kiss before hanging up. I sat in the kitchen for a while, old photos coming up on my memories from when I was a kid.

Chase was in half of these which made me giggle at how much he's changed.

"Ohhh boy," I breathed out before grabbing a glass of water and wondering upstairs, I didn't want anyone coming over today, I just wanted a quiet and relaxed night to myself.. which wasn't happening since I could hear blasting music from next door.

"Oh your fucking joking," I said in disbelief, looking out my window. I could see a full view of some girl getting laid, which made me scrunch my nose and close my curtains.

"Probably won't last long," I said in connection with the party he threw. I could help but wonder why he didn't invite me?

Everyone but me?

"Dickhead," I said under my breath before choosing a movie, my room was dark and I was snuggled up in my fluffy duck pjs.

-

It was around 1 am and I had fallen asleep, but yet again, been woken up for the third time tonight.

"What the fuck," I scowl, getting out of bed, my jaw clenched.

"What's his problem," I ask myself, putting on my slippers and walking outside. Strobing lights were everywhere from what I could see in the windows, and that pissed me off even more.

Walking up to his doorstep, I knock hard, bet no one can hear me anyways.

Instead, I ring his door bell, multiple times in fact until someone actually bothered to open the door.

This time I banged on the door until I heard someone open it, the music was much more clearer and it was my fucking favourite song.

Looking up, Chase stood there with a clear smirk on his face, his hair chiselled and his eyes dark, "Nice pjs," I looked down, shit.

His eyes scanned my body and I couldn't help but move around in distress, "Can you turn down the fucking music?" I finally got to the point, taking a step forward so that he had to look down even more.

"What, I thought this was your favourite song?" He grinned, licking his lips as he stared down at me.

"Yeah, but I'm trying to sleep, so turn it down!" I grumbled, raising my brows while waiting for an answer.

"Yeah yeah okay," he rolled his eyes before looking back at the crowded room behind him.

"Heyy, Chase!" I heard a far too familiar voice call out, looking down I watched a pair of hands snake round his torso, causing me to clench my jaw and look up at him in a more hurt way.

"Heyy lily, nice pjs." She said sarcastically as she rested her head on his shoulder.

"Hannah, get the fuck off me." He pushed her back, scowling straight at her, "Lily, we haven't done anything, I swear on my fucking life."

"You invited her, and not me?" I give him a look in disbelief.

"No— well you said you didn't want to see anyone after school?" He frowned.

"Yeah, I know. Just turn it down, please." He was generally right. My voice was weak as I started walking off his doorstep, only to be pulled back again. He had a tight grasp round my wrist as he pulled me towards him again, "We haven't done anything, lily. She doesn't mean shit to me."

"I believe you, I just need you to turn it down!" I said in frustration, jerking his hand away.

"Fine, I will." He mumbled before walking back into the house, shutting the door behind him.

"Goddammit." I groan out, dragging myself all the way back home.

They definitely did something.
