Chapter fourteen

"Oh my goodness." I heaved, standing in the doorway of my history class. Miss Parker stood there, frowning at my sudden statement.

"Miss Reynolds, please do not come in late and start abruptly talking, I really don't appreciate it." She said with a tilted head. "Sorry." I didn't look at her.

"Can you go sit next to Chase please."

"Look, it's my favourite person!" I squealed sarcastically, throwing my bag under the table before sitting down with a big sigh.

"Look, it's my least favourite person!" He returned the same energy, I scowled at him before crossing my arms on the desk before resting my head on them.

"Okay, now that we have everyone, I'd like to assign a small little project for tomorrow, it's nothing big, you just need to research some facts on the topic we've been learning about on a power point then send it to me." She turned to the board as she went through the slides.

"Why you late?" Chase whispered, flicking a pencil in my direction, which, with his extraordinary aim, it hit me right in the side of the head.

"Chase!" I threw it back to him, "I'm already late, don't make me miss even more work you div."

"But we're partners, yeah?" He asked, tilting his head to the side. I gave him a side glance, clearly showing my irritation. "Just stop talking, please." I mumbled against my jumper.

"What's got you in a mood?" He grinned, pinching my side. I jerked away, moving my seat further away from him. "Shut up." I sighed.

"No."

"Yes."

"Make me." That was the final straw.

I swiftly turned round, my hand making contact with his neck to shut the little child up.

For once, he was being the annoying, irrelevant child. Now it's my turn to be mommy.

Seemingly, it had no effect on his, except his hand wrapped round my neck as well, giving it a light squeeze, just enough for me to let him go.

"Whose shut up now." He challenged, pulling my closer to him, his hand still secured round my neck.

"You're pathetic." I squint at him as I tug on his wrist, pulling it away.

"Excuse me, go stand outside, and detention at lunch for both of you, now go!" Poor miss Parker.i

"Okay." I said, more than unfazed to get out that stinky classroom. Expect I had that stinky child right behind me.

"Yes, ma'am." Chase smirked, walking outside to greet me with a slap round the back of my head.

"Oi, c'mere you twat!" I shouted, grabbing the over grown hair on top of his head. I gave it an aggressive tug, pulling him towards me which caused him to let out a breath in pain.
