Chapter 13

I scowl at the prince who moves out of my way looking as if he was suppressing a laugh.

I walk in to find Princess Alana being wheeled out of her lounge by a servant.

"Alex you were just........leaving" she says.

"I might stick around a little longer"

Alana looks at me and i try tell her NO with my eyes.

I try send her a telepathic message too begging her to spare me.

It doesn't seem to be working.

"He won't leave even if i kick him out you know" she says.

I turn to the prince "No one wants you here Alex" i echoed his words from yesterday "why don't you leave?"

"Oh don't flatter your self i don't want you here either" he says flatly walking into the lounge.

"I just want to have lunch with my sister , and if her deranged friend wants to tag along then that's a small price to pay for Alana's company" he slams down onto the sofa and gets comfy.

I guess he's here to stay.

"Deranged ? says the guy who put a rats head in my food and almost let me to drown to death"

"Hey,you did the rat thing too"He points out and then adds "and i told you i took care of Judith" looking distantly at the carpet.

I wheel Alana into the lounge room and sit into the chair furthest away from him.

After a few moments of silence he clears his throat " I have to admit this is more boring than i'd expected"

"Maybe your majesty can provide us with some entertainment"i reply dryly.

He looks at me "Have i not entertained you enough these past two days?"

He tuts and grins "Here i was thinking our night rendezvous in the kitchens had you satisfied" he said feigning disappointment.

My face burns as Alana sharply turns to me

"What night rendezvous Elide?"

"Oh my god" i said covering my face "he's joking"

"So you didn't spend time with me in the kitchens after midnight on friday?"He says , his green eyes alight with amusement.

Alana's head whips towards him so fast i wonder how she doesn't have whiplash.

"I ran into him and it was an unpleasant encounter,trust me, i thought he was a servant and he didn't even bother correcting me and we were rude to each other that's all, it's not at all how he's making it sound"

"Oh" He smiles "I thought it was a pleasant encounter and how exactly am i making it sound Elide?"

"Stop this both of you"Alana announces.

I am furious at letting Alex see how flustered his words made me so i turn to Alana.

"This was a stupid idea Alana , I am so sorry but i wont sit in the same room as this jerk"

She winces at my words.

"I wanted to be civil for you , i tried , but i will never forgive him for yesterday , ever , i can't stand the sight of him"i tell her, i pull up my shirt to show him the cuts all over my arms and pull down my top to show him my collarbone.

His face is carefully masked but i catch a twinge of disgust at what i'd shown him.

"You hurt me" i said to him,surprised at how steady and assertive my voice sounded,almost wicked "You didn't let them help and just let me sink into the water" i continue "But i'm not going to cry,i'm going to hurt you back"I pause again then say "If this is the man who is going to rule Medrania , i have concerns for your future" i say to Alana and begin to walk out.
