During the Christmas time, the Auclairs were forced to attend yet another ball.

Elvira groaned after her mother told her.

Her feet were aching from the shoes, as was her head from all the different hairstyles, and she swore she wouldn't be able to breath if she was forced to wear another corset.

But, Elvira being Elvira didn't say a word as the house elves applied makeup, and curled her hair while inserting a diamond clip holding 2 strands in the back.

She didn't complain when they tightened her corset impeccably tight and she didn't complain when her parents forced her to smile and greet as much pureblood adults as she could.

Just as she was about to allow yet another women kiss her cheek, someone came to her rescue.

"Mrs. Lestrange, would you mind if I steal Elvira away for a moment?" Sirius asked the woman, giving her a charming smile.

"Oh not at all dear."

Sirius quickly pulled Elvira away and she sighed in relief.

"Oh Sirius Black you're my hero!" She exclaimed.

Sirius chuckled at the girl.

"Yeah, I was debating just leaving you there to suffer." Sirius responded.

"Well, I'm glad you decided to have a heart." Elvira said.

"Aww, can I get a prize then? Perhaps a kiss would do." Sirius said cheekily.

Elvira glared at him, although a blush started spreading across her cheeks.

Suddenly, Sirius stopped walking and he cleared his throat.

Elvira frowned at him.

"Elvira Auclair, may I have this dance?" Sirius asked with a grin as he stuck his hand out.

Elvira couldn't help but giggle at his stupidity.

"Yes, Sirius Black you may."

Sirius took her hand and dragged her to the dance floor.

The two started waltzing, their bodies moving perfectly in-sync with one another.

Elvira sighed contently as she placed her head on Sirius' chest.

"Doesn't this remind you of when-" She began but Sirius cut her off.

"Of when we were thirteen and our parents made us take dance lessons with each other." Sirius finished off with a chuckle.

Elvira laughed as she and Sirius continued swaying.

"Oh when times were simpler." She said as she lifted her head and locked eyes with Sirius.

Elvira drew in a shaky breath. Her heart was racing under his gaze, and it felt like no one else was in the room. It was just the two of them dancing.

Sirius then spun her and when he pulled her back, he pulled her dangerously close to his face.

If possible, her heart started racing more, and their was this familiar feeling inside of her. One that she only ever got with Sirius.

Their eyes were still locked together, even as they started getting closer to one another.

Elvira felt Sirius' lips graze hers as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

Sirius pulled her closer to him by her waist and finally he kissed her.

Elvira felt like her heart exploded with happiness as Sirius' lips were on hers.

They were soft, and the kiss was slow and tender.

After a few minutes, or a few hours, or perhaps it could have been a few days, the pair slowly opened their eyes and pulled apart.

As Elvira looked into Sirius' eyes once more, their was emotion she had seen before, but could not recognize.

And for the first time, Elvira recognized the emotion, for she too, had felt it before.

It was love.
