3: Be Silent Like Deep Water

I wake up to the sun beaming into my face. Chris is no longer in bed with me so I assume he's already left. I roll over to check my phone.

"OH SHIT!" I yell jumping up from my bed and running to the bathroom. My first class starts in 20 minutes and I'm just now waking up. I must have forgotten to set my alarm.

I quickly wash up and brush my teeth. I get dressed, wearing a grey tube top and the same colored joggers then put on my bracelet. After that, I brushed my hair and pull it up into a bun. Last, I do my makeup, doing a natural look.

I swiftly grab my keys and my belongings. I'm 20 minutes late already and my school is 30 minutes away. That's without the morning traffic.

"I'm already late, I might as well get some Starbucks." I say to myself while sitting in traffic.

I pull into the Starbucks drive thru and place my order.

I drink my latte while on the way to school. I rush into school and get my books out of my locker. By now it's already past 10:30 and my first class ends at 10:45 so I decided to go to the bathroom until that class is over. To save myself the embarrassment of walking in with all eyes on me.

While walking to the bathroom I was stopped by my teacher whose class I was supposed to be in at the moment.

"Mrs. Fay-" I tried to speak before she lifted her hand, cutting me off.

"Not only are you skipping class, your clothes go against the dress code." She spoke firmly while looking up and down at my outfit.

"I'm so sorry I didn't realize that this was going against the dress code. I just arrived at school. I overslept and I was just about to come to class." I rambled.

"Then how come you passed my class and we're heading towards the bathroom?" She voiced putting her hands on her hips and raising one of her eyebrows.

"I was just going to use the bathroom before I came to class." I said, trying to convince her.

"Enough. I have a meeting today after school but I expect to see you tomorrow morning in class and after school at 5:30 for detention." She spoke firmly, eyeing me before turning away on her heels.

I don't even bother saying anything else. I just sigh and continue to the bathroom.

When class finally ended I walked out of the bathroom and headed out of the building to walk across to my next class which is in a completely different part of campus.

Walking to history, I overslept and was late.

Okay I'll see you soon.

Okay.

I continued to walk for what felt like forever until I reached the next building and saw Brae waiting for me.

"Hey babe!" Brae excitedly hugged me tightly.

"Hey." I spoke struggling to breathe. Tapping her back letting her know she needs to let go. We laugh and continue to walk into the building. Going up the stairs Brae somehow tripped and I couldn't help but laugh as she glared at me.
