Blackness.
Just blackness.
I felt a twitch in my arm, I had luckily regained my consciousness. This was not the tunnel- I was back on the ground! This was such a relief!
Arthur, Ophelia, and Alagwar all stood over me. Ophelia let out the loudest side of relief I had ever heard. Arthur looked like he was about to cry, but he just stood staring at me in what I assumed was amazement. Alagwar was looking at me and shaking his head, obviously not that thrilled that I had just woken up.
"I told you to follow me exactly... Now look at what happened, and it's a miracle you're still alive!" He was not cutting any sort of slack on my part and seemed to hold no sympathy for me.
"How am I alive? You said that if you were even touched, there would be no chance of survival," I was not going to address anything else he had said to me.
"I don't know- probably that Lemonark blood of yours. It's protecting you from the spider's venomous bite," he grumbled to me.
"She made a mistake, it's only natural!" Arthur was defending whatever honour I had, but Alagwar was about to snap back. He was careful to stop himself once he saw Ophelia's expression and remained quiet.
"Let's leave her to rest, let's eat," Alagwar beckoned them away from me as quickly as they could and started scooting past Arthur to get to Ophelia. He took them outside, and I obviously did not need to eat because I had done that on the way here.
I don't actually know how long they had been absent, but it did not feel long enough of a rest. My neck was still sore, but the pain had increased itself to a much more sufficient and painful amount. I groaned in agony, and it made me think that maybe death would not be too painful compared to this. Actually, I was assured it was better than this torture being inflicted upon me. Alagwar seemed to think the pain was fair and deserved because of my ignorance. Yes, I had not been very responsible but it was just a simple mistake, and I bet that he had not been the most perfect being in the entire world!
"Come on, can't stay down all of the day, and your incident has already cost us too much valuable time." Alagwar had been barking at me to get up, but that was something that I couldn't possibly do. My pain was eating me alive.
"For someone who is said to be such an acclaimed teacher, you treat your students like they are complete scum..." I did not realize it had been Arthur who broke out, but I did see the look of complete terror on the face of Ophelia.
"Arthur! You are such a despicable boy for saying something so horrid to such a generous man," Ophelia looked so hurt, but Alagwar held a smug expression on his face once she said that.
"Oh mother, you think I haven't noticed how you leave twice a week and come back home in a fawning state? I see you constantly giggle when you talk to Alagwar. You're in love with him!" No one could she live what he had just said, for it was very sudden. What made the disruption worse was how no one was quite settled on why he chose to speak that way.
"Arthur, why would you say that?" Alagwar was visibly flushing and his cheeks burned red on his textured skin, but there was also plenty of rage implemented. Ophelia was quietly looking at her son with an expression of weakness plastered on her face.
"You should let Parisa rest," Arthur finally mumbled out to everyone. "It's not fair on how you're treating her, she was just bitten by the most poisonous spider alive!" His mumbling soon became shouting once more. Ophelia was in full distress and she ran out of the cave, Arthur following her in haste. "Mother, don't cry about this! You can be the most level-headed one of us if you chose! Don't expect an apology if you continue to act like such a child!"
