My day couldn't get weirder. I still couldn't believe that I was at Camp Jupiter in the morning, preparing to attend classes. Now with the sun setting, I was literally at the other side of the country, in my home, Camp Half-blood. I swear I thought nothing could surprise me after six years in the Greek world, but still, it springs out new surprises. I never, even in my wildest dreams thought of Hestia having a demigod son or daughter. It was like saying Artemis hates no men. But, what to do, it was not a dream. Hard reality. Couldn't the fates give me rest for at least three more years? Or did they feel that it was enough for me to rest for a year?
Now, this demigod comes and brings along a new problem. It was hard to wrap around the fact that the Greek gods existed. It became harder to accept that they had roman aspects. After seeing Sadie and Carter, my mind exploded on the prospect of meeting the Egyptian pantheon. Then Annabeth tells me to help her cousin Magnus who deals with the Norse pantheon. And after thinking that I could see no more pantheons, the Hindu pantheon comes. True, I just saw one God from that pantheon, that sage-like figure who kept chanting that name before every sentence. But, Annabeth had researched about the Hindu pantheon and was utterly perplexed by its complexity. Heck, if she was confused, there was no way I could understand the Hindu Pantheon. But just one fact about the pantheon made me shiver from top to bottom. That pantheon had fricking 330 million gods and goddesses, major and minor. I did a double-take when I heard it once from Annabeth. 330 million? Seriously? That is like the whole population of the USA!!!! I still couldn't and wouldn't believe that statement. It may be wrong.
But quitting the rambling, I am not against Hari. Poor guy it was a lot to take in. And being a son of a maiden goddess didn't help matters. I hope that the campers don't shun him out. But I was a bit scared. That aura surrounding him.... It was unreally powerful. If he was indeed an Avatar, I shudder to think what he can do if he fully unlocks his potential. I was eating dinner when I saw a flash near the border. All of us campers went to the border. It was just Annabeth and other Greek demigods who were attending the college. All were transferred back to this camp until the whole camp was restored. I rushed and hugged her fiercely and she responded with equal enthusiasm.
The last horn was sound meaning time for bed. We decided to meet Hari the next day. I went to my cabin and crashed into my bed. I was snoring!!! That tired I was.
The next day, I woke early. I just woke up. Not that I planned to. So, I decided to have a jog at the beach. As I reached the canoeing lake, I could see Hari doing whatever he did every day. He was bare-chested and the naiads were giving him weird looks but he seemed to not care. I went to my spot on the beach, the spot where I and Annabeth had fond memories about. I saw the sunrise from the horizon, glittering over the sea.
"Beautiful!", I heard a voice from behind. It was Hari. He wrapped a piece of cloth around his torso as he saw the sunrise. "Going to do Surya-namaskar. Care to join?", he asked.
"Nah! I am fine.", I replied. He just placed that cloth in the sand and did his Asanas. I was blankly staring at the ocean when I was struck by a sudden question. I rushed straight to the hearth.
"Hestia? Lady Hestia?", I called out. I didn't know whether it was the correct way to summon her. But she came out of the hearth in her forty-year-old form.
"Yes, Percy? How can I help you?", she asked.
"When did you leave your eight-year-old form and turn to this form?", I asked curiously.
"Now that I have a son who hasn't seen his mother, I wanted to be his mother. But that aside, anything else you want to ask me?", Hestia asked.
"How did Shukracharya know about the camp? Why did he attack it in the first place?", I asked.
"I seriously have little idea in this regard. Maybe,....", she was thinking deeply before her eyes lit up, "Maybe..... he was after Hari?!.", She suggested.
"No. I don't think so. He did not even recognize Hari until the disc appeared. And I highly doubt whether he knows who Hari was up until that point.", I replied.
"Then..... let us discuss with Chiron. Do you know any other person who has some knowledge of Hindu Mythology?", Hestia asked.
"Maybe Pranjal knows. But I am not sure. I think Hari is the only person who can supply us information about the pantheon.", I replied.
"Fine. Let us go to Chiron. Now.", Hestia said with urgency and so we went to the big house. After banging the door for some time, Chiron woke up, in his night-wear.
"Percy! Lady Hestia! Why so early?", he yawned.
"Chiron We need to discuss something. Can we go to the recording room?.", Hestia was more like commanding than asking, which was not her character. Chiron noticed it and didn't waste time. We went to the room. Hestia cast the soundproof shield again and we started our discussion.
"Why are we here for?", Chiron asked.
"Percy asked two questions which we need answers for.", Hestia said.
"How did that Shukracharya know the camp location? Why did he attack in the first place?", I asked short and crisp.
"What are you trying to tell?", Chiron asked.
"Hestia said that foes of both pantheons have joined hands. I think Shukracharya has a master. He is just a pawn. Who from the Greek mythology assisted him?", I explained.
"Your question is valid. Once we find out the answers we may know who the actual villain is.", Chiron concluded.
"Who could—"
Hestia was interrupted by Annabeth, who looked like she had seen a ghost or a...
"Dream!", Annabeth replied, finishing my thought.
