Chapter 6: Sibling War

Author: I would like to apologize for the long update. I am still recovering after losing someone important to me.

It didn't take long when you woke up in the infirmary. The doctor just finished the bandage in your head. You blink multiple times as you raise your hands to your eye level. It is now covered with bandages too. Your stamina in the previous fight was not enough to strengthen your armament haki. You turn your head to the Doctor beside your bed.

"Thank goodness you're awake. Take a rest now, I'll ask the captain for your change of clothes." He smiled softly.

"Where is Mohawk?" You tried to look around for him in the infirmary but nothing. The doctor didn't answer. You can already tell something bad is happening at the moment based on the face he wears. A loud thud and crashing materials can be heard outside.

Despite the pain in your head and other parts of your body, you got off of the bed. The doctor tried to stop you but you didn't listen. You got out of the infirmary, limping your way.

On the hallway going to the deck, you can already hear Kid shouting something. When you opened the door leading to the deck, your eyes darted to Mohawk. He is covered with blood and lying on the other side of the deck near Kid's workshop door. The rest of the crew is surrounding him and the Captain.

"Kid! What are you doing?!"

All eyes are on you as you rush to Mohawk. Your body is still beat up but you managed to walk in a limping state towards the poor guy. You kneeled beside his head, not knowing if you should touch him or not. He was breathing heavily but smiled when he noticed you beside him.

"Glad you're okay y/n." He is having a hard time talking and closed his eyes again to whimper from the pain in his body. You turned your head to Kid who is glaring at Mohawk.

"WHY?!" You asked angrily, almost gritting your teeth.

"He was supposed to protect you in the first place, he admitted it's his fault that you two lost Killer along the way and didn't come back to the ship instead."

"It's not his obligation Kid, I was being too confident that we will find Killer along the way. I caused the trouble." You shot back. You look at the crew members standing closer and instructed to carry Mohawk to the infirmary. Without hesitation, the crew did what you asked. You stood up and made your way towards Kid, glaring at him.

"He didn't have to undergo another beating after what we've been through." You grumbled.

"It's a punishment for being careless! Look at you! Your condition was way worse when we arrived at the city!" He raised his voice but you understood that he was just worried about you. But then, you knew it was not enough reason to beat his crew for you, especially that you feel responsible for dragging Mohawk into the mess.

"If it's about being careless, then you should do the same to me. After all, I am under your leadership, not as your sister but as a member of your crew." You look straight into his eyes glaring back at you and his jaw clenched.

"This is not about who is careless..." He started and took a deep breath. "I GAVE KILLER AND THAT BASTARD A DUTY TO LOOK AFTER YOU! IT IS A COMMAND AS A CAPTAIN!"

Being separated from your brother for a long time and meeting him once again made you realize that a lot has changed in his behavior that you were not able to witness until now. But something tells you that no matter what changes he undergoes, he'll keep acknowledging you as his sister. Now that you are with him, he is being overprotective for your own good.
