Chapter 15: Responsible

"K-Koby." You almost whispered, eyes were wide as your mouth runs dry and was unable to speak. Out of all the marine population, he is the last person you'd ever want to meet today.

"I thought I'm going to die." Mich acted scared with teary eyes, crocodile tears to be exact. She's very strange right now, far from her devilish grin a while ago.

"Are you planning to eliminate them all?" Koby spoke with full authority in his voice but his eyes remained soft and warm. The same eyes you've seen when you first met him.

However, you can feel the disappointment from his voice and with the way he looks down on you.

You heard movements behind you from where Mich crashed. When you looked over your shoulder, you saw her starting to run. You immediately knew where she's heading from that direction.

There are a lot of enemies out there to distract the crew. If by chance, Mich might be able to sneak inside the ship and get her hands on the chest box.

You kicked Koby to retrieve your sword from his grip and ran as fast as you can to catch Mich while Koby is chasing you. Something is telling you that Koby will not hurt you but he will not hesitate to catch you either and take you to the marine headquarters.

You paused and destroyed the ceiling using the shockwave from your silver sword which successfully served as a barrier between you and Koby. It should be a right time to speak to him about your concerns but it would take more time for him to listen to you. Dealing with Mich and the chest box is your top priority right now.

As you run through the hallway, your observation haki tingles. A sword swung from the blind spot corner and was about to slice your throat when you knelt just in time, sliding through the floor on your knees due to your running momentum.

You look back and there's Mich who's about to swing her sword again before you could stand. You got up to give distance but the tip of her sword reached a slice on your thigh. It went through your pants and your skin but the adrenaline rush made it less painful to keep your stance as the blood started to soak your pants.

You blocked her sword with your own as you try to push it to give yourself a chance to get back at her.

You gave her an unexpected head butt that shook her balance. You took few steps back and shook your head, trying to clear your vision before she could. To your surprise, her finger pistol landed on your stomach area while she's still clearing her dizziness. If you had not stepped a little backwards, it would've pierced dangerously in your organ.

The painful scream you suppressed with your gritted teeth made her laugh like a sinister person.

You spit out the blood inside your mouth in her white uniform then aim to swing your sword on her lower region. Her sword clashed with yours before it hit her thigh but she didn't expect you to turn the blade to face upwards. It's like a boomerang that was sent downwards and unexpectedly turned to aim upwards, sliding through her own sword and targeting her face in the process. If Mich wasn't fast enough, her face would've been sliced but she was able to dodge it while sacrificing her shoulder.

"Shit!"

Without giving her time to recover from the pain, you gave her a high kick on her chin. She clenched her teeth a felt a little dizzy again, however, she was able keep her balance. After all, Mich is a captain, dragging her to kneel before you will take a lot of effort.

You turned the sharp blade of the sword to face the usual downwards again then aimed for her without sparing no time.

Both of you swung your swords as it sparked from the force. Neither wants to let an opening to an opponent.
