Chapter 9 The boss

Jennie too started working on getting all the the files ready which were required for the meeting but she was still thinking and figuring out about Kim Soo-hyun's name as the name got stuck in her head. She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't realize that Lisa had been calling out her name, asking to hand her over a file for quite some time. Lisa got irritated and yelled, "Are you here to work or not? If you are here just to waste time then you may please leave. This meeting is very important to me and is that file. So please if you can't take your work seriously, then just go home." Jennie was taken a back by Lisa's yelling and felt embarrassed. She apologized, "I..I... I'm..I'm sorry. It won't happen again. Here is your file, I have sorted everything."

"Hmm..get to work." Lisa replied without looking at her.

Just then, Kim Soo-hyun's assistant arrived and walked up to the receptionist and requested, "Can I meet Ms. Manoban, please?" Wihajun was in the same proximity and so he came to the reception area and escorted him to Lisa's office. Lisa as she saw him, got up from her seat and shook her hand but her eyes were searching for someone. She asked, "I don't see Mr. Kim Soo-hyun with you, is he not here?" "I am here Ms. Manoban" Came a hoarse voice from behind which made everyone and looked towards the door. "Oh, you're here sir," said Kwangsoo. Jennie looked at Soohyun and felt different. It seemed Soohyun was somebody close to her, she was happy to see him but did not want to make it known everyone. She focused her attention on the work and showed Soohyun the file and pointed out the mistake. Looking at the file and checking the details, Soohyun apologized, "I am really sorry Ms. Manoban. This is embarrassing. Our employee must have made an error. We really sorry for the inconvenience. However, I hope this doesn't effect our partnership. I promise you that this won't be repeated. "It's okay Mr. Kim, I understand. This is not your fault, and doesn't worry, we are still very interested in continuing our partnership. I look forward to us working with each other" and shook his hand with a confident smile on her face.

Soohyun already knew Wihajun however, he was meeting Jennie for the first time which is why he asked about her. It was clear from Lisa's expression that she did not want to disclose to Soohyun that Jennie was her wife, which is why she replied, "She..she is my personal assistant." Jennie had expected this from Lisa and she happily introduced herself and extended her hand to Soohyun, "Hello, Mr. Kim. I am Jennie Won, Ms. Lalisa Manoban' assistant. It's nice to meet you." Seeing Jennie refer to herself as Won instead of Manoban, Lisa was a little surprised. She waited for everyone to leave so that she could talk to Jennie. Soohyun shook her hand and then looked at Lisa and said, "Okay, Ms. Manoban, I should take my leave now." Lisa replied, "Let's at least have lunch to gather before you leave Mr. Kim." to which Soohyun said that he had another appointment to attend to. As Soohyun came out of their office, he looked at Kwangsoo and said, "Did you looked at their expressions? The way Lisa turned sour when Jennie introduced herself did seem a little strange, didn't it?" Kwangsoo nodded in agreement and it seemed like the two knew something about what was going on between them but could not say anything. After talking for a while, they finally left the building.

Meanwhile, in the office, Wihajun also left when Lisa reached out for Jennie's hand and asked, "So you're Jennie Won huh.. What happen to your little bet..did you give up already?" Jennie responded, "For your information, it was you who introduced me as your personal assistant, that's why I was Ms. Won and as our bet, don't you worry about it.. I can take care of it very easily." Lisa got pissed at Jennie's words and without saying anything, stormed out of the room while slamming the door behind her. She went to the parking lot, got into her car, and drove off. Lisa was speeding her car and after driving for a while, the car suddenly came to a screeching halt. Lisa from inside her car yelled, 'How dare she!.. How can she introduced herself as Jennie Won when she's married to me.. She's got some nerve... I have to show her who is the boss here."
