Chapter 23

They all didn't wake up until noon the next day. The only one complaining about a headache was Dustin. It was more from when he walked right into the bathroom door last night rather than the alcohol.  Mike and El had just entered Max and Lucas's room and the only one they were waiting on was Will. Today they were planning on going to a festival with Matt, Oliver. Destiny and Alayia. After Will got there he told the group he and Matt were talking and they were gonna meet them outside of the hotel around 1 pm. The group began to get ready for the festival. Max and El go back to El and Mikes's room so Max could help EL pick out an outfit.

"How was your night?" Max asked El with a smirk.  El's eyes grew a bit wider and her cheeks went a darker shade of red. "Oh come on I mean you seemed pretty eager when you left so I knew something was bound to happen," Max explained her suspicion. "Oh god, that embarrassing," El said. Max let out a laugh, "So?" El let out a giggle and said "Oh my night was fantastic." El said before filling Max in on the rest of the night.

After everyone was dressed and ready to go, they made their way down to the front of the hotel where they found the rest of their friends waiting for them.  "Hey Will," Matt said before walking up and slinging his arm over his shoulder. Wills turned a shade of red. "Hi," he said with a grin. Max and El shared a smirk, making a note to talk to Will about him and Matt later. El still stayed close to Mike's side as she had the previous days and Mike didn't mind at all as he took her hand in his. She looked up at him and smiled at him. Mike returned the smile. Alayia and Destiny shared a smirk, making a note to ask El about her night. El noticed their shared look and smirked back. mouthing the word "later" causing the girls to giggle. Mike pretended he didn't notice but he knew what they were getting at and tried to hide his remark. 

After sharing hellos the group made their way to where the festival was being held. Once they arrived they went and bought their tickets. While Mike went ahead and bought his and El's tickets, El went and stood with all the girls, where they asked about her night. El told them about it and that it was great but obviously didn't give them as many details that she had given Max earlier. While Mike was buying the tickets he looked back at where El was standing. Making sure she was still in sight and safe. As soon as he finished paying he walked over to where El stood. Based on her flushed cheeks he figured that she was telling them about her night like she has hinted to the girls earlier. He knew she was easily embarrassed talking about those types of things. When he reached her side Alayia and Destiny smirked at him but, Max being Max just rolled her eyes. El giggled and leaned into him as the rest of the guys made their way over.

They all made their way through the entrance and looked over everything in sight. There were tons of different rides and even a roller coaster. They could smell different types of foods and treats and this caused their excitement to grow. El and Max wanted to go on every single ride. Mike said he wouldn't go on any of the big ones but he would go on the smaller ones with El. Lucas laughed "I still can't believe that you are still scared of heights." he said. Mike rolled his eyes "Whatever Lucas" he sighed. El let out a small laugh. Then they all decided to meet back at 5 pm where they would discuss if they wanted to stay longer or not. Then they broke off into groups. Oliver, Dustin, Destiny, and Alayia went one way, Matt and Will went in different directions and Lucas, Mike, El, and Max went another way.

After hours of going on every ride possible, Max and El were very hungry. Mike had gone on most of the rides and so had Lucas but the girls wanted to go in the spinning teacups once again and the boys weren't interested in feeling like throwing up again. So Lucas and Mike sat at a picnic table waiting for the girls. Mike made sure he could still see El before he relaxed a bit. "So Will and Matt definitely hooked up last night," Mike said looking over at Lucas. "Oh yeah, they definitely did." Lucas agreed. "So you owe me ten bucks, I knew Will would get with someone before Dustin did," Mike said. Lucas laughed "Yeah, Yeah I was hoping you forgot." Lucas said before handing Mike over the ten dollars. When the girls finished on the ride they went and bought some food.

Matt and Will were currently playing bumper cars. This was their third time playing. Once they finished up they checked the time and it was 4:20 pm they decided to get a bite to eat before they headed to the meeting place. They sat at a picnic table where Will told Matt about how he and the guys used to play dnd when they were younger. "Maybe we could play a game before you guys head back to Hawkins," Matt suggested. "I have I board but I haven't played since I was like ten." Will nodded "That would be fun! We can talk to everyone else about it later." Will smiled. Matt returned the smile and took a bite of his hot dog.

"Oh my god! Can we please go on the Ferris wheel?" Destiny pleaded to Oliver as she turned to face where Dustin and Oliver walked behind her and Alayia. "Sure babe, but then we should head back to meet everyone else," Oliver replied. The girls let out squeals of excitement and rush to the line. After waiting in line Destiny had an idea. "Oliver come sit with me." Oliver smiled sensing her plan. "Sure thing." He said before sending a wink Dustin's way. Before Alayia or Dustin could comment Oliver and Destiny got into their seat.

Dustin was so nervous, sure he and Alayia had some conversations last night and today but he was actually gonna be alone with her and he wasn't gonna miss his shot. Without saying a word Dustin and Alayia got into their seats and got all buckled in. After they were ready the ferries wheel began to move. The ferries wheel stopped and went until everyone was in their seats and then began to continue to move. Alayia was smiling as she looked out over the view. "So beautiful," she said. "Yeah" Dustin whispered. When Alayia looked up, Dustin wasn't looking out at the view. He was looking at her. Her eyes lit up and her cheeks turned bright pink. Dustin smiled. Alayia returned the smile. Then Dustin whispered, "Can I try something?" She nodded and Dustin turned his body to face hers before brushing away her hair from her face smiling and leaning in to connect their lips.

Butterflies erupted in her stomach. She sank into the kiss. It took her a second to respond and when she did she swore she felt Dustin lose a breath in return as if he thought she wouldn't kiss him back. She lifted a hand to rest on his neck as the kiss continued. After some time she pulled away. Still flushed she smiled and said, "I was hoping you would do that." Dustin laughed in return and put his arm around her. She leaned into him as they enjoyed the rest of the ride in each other's arms.
