[] One Shots [] Xiaoxaether []

The story takes place during the main quest and the only difference is that Xiao tagged along with Aether.

Xiao was walking through the tea house. It was the only place he could hope to find Aether, but instead he found Ayaka staring at the wall looking concerned.

"Excuse me, have you seen the Traveller?" Xiao asked her.

She seemed to jump a bit by Xiao's sudden appearance but once she recognised him she calmed down a bit. "Greetings Xiao. Is there something I can help you with?"

Xiao noticed how she seemed on edge but put this off. "Where is Aether?" he asked her once again.

Ayaka clenched her fists, this didn't go unnoticed by Xiao. "The traveller will be back soon," she replied.

He looked at Ayaka more closely and she seemed unsure, "Is something the matter?" he decided to ask.

She gulped but decided it would be better if she told the raven the truth, she knew the two were close. "The Traveller went to find Thoma.." she took a deep breath before finishing, "Who is probably facing the Shogun.."

Xiao instantly realised what she meant, "He went alone!" She was now worried.

"Yes he did, that was probably around 20 minuets ago."

"God damnit Aether," Xiao silently cursed. "I'm going after him," he said while turning away from Ayaka.

"Wait!" Ayaka reached for him but he had already left the room in a hurry.

Xiao was about to open the front door to leave but noticed the handle turn which made him quickly jump back. Though, he was surprised when he saw Thoma and Aether who had his arm over his should, likely being supported by him.

"Xiao! What are you doing here?" Aether questioned him as Thoma let go of his arm.

Xiao had a irritated look on his face, "What was I doing?" he spat out a Aether, "You could of been seriously injured!" he looked at the floor questioning the Travellers reckless decisions.

"Xiao.." Aether took a few steps towards Xiao, "I'm sorry." He wrapped his arms around the ravens waist, "I'm very sorry Xiao." He slightly squeezed the adeptus.

"Why- why didn't you call out my name..." he paused, "I could of been of use to you.." Xiao spoke in a saddened tone. He embraced the hug, leaning into it, putting his head on the blondes shoulder.

*cough cough* Thoma tried the catch the attention of Aether but at the same time was not wanting to ruin the moment. "I'm sorry Aether but I think you are forgetting you're now a wanted man in Inazuma."

Xiao stopped the hug to look up at Aether. "What happened? What did you do!"

"Well I did go there to save Thoma but... I ended up battling against the Raiden Shogun," Aether spoke nervously towards Xiao, avoiding eye contact with him.

"I'm sorry to interrupt but we should discuss our next course of action," Ayaka appeared.

"Ayaka when did you get here?" Aether questioned as he as not realised her presence.

She looked at them, "I've been here the whole time," she smiled. "I just didn't want to ruin the moment unlike Thoma."

"Our next course of action?" Xiao said trying to keep everyone on track and not get distracted.

"Oh right. Well, I think it would be best if Aether went with the resistance which is located near Yashori Island."

"The resistance is currently at war with the Shoguns army. It's perfect, you should be safe there." Thoma stated.

"Yes that's right and I also believe you will be safer there then here," Ayaka said, she looked up at the Traveller.

'The resistance...' Aether thought. "Wait- What about you Thoma, won't you be coming with me?"

"Don't worry about me, I've got lots of places to hide," The blondie laughed.

"If that's your decision I can't argue with that," he spoke to Thoma, he then turned his attention to Xiao, "Xiao I think you should-"

"I'm coming with you," he interrupted Aether knowing what he was about to suggest.

Aether sighed 'I really can't argue with anyone can I' he thought. "Fine then," he said, Xiao looked at him with a surprised face.
