===========
Aether stood on the mountain side, enjoying the view he missed so much, one he could never forget. Liyue. He looked over the land, seeing how much it had changed over the centuries he had been gone.
There were differences, for one there were more buildings for the growing population. The actual land hadn't changed much as he could easily recognise it was still the Liyue he loved so much. Though... none of that was important right now, his main focus was on Wangshu Inn which still stood tall, the tree had certainly grown over the years and on the tree there were clear expansions made.
He turned around when he heard heavy panting, his sister Lumine was a tired mess, gasping for air that she desperately needed.
"Aether.." she paused to catch her breath, "You need to slow down.. I know you're excited.. but... please slow down." She fell on the grass. "Honestly, where does he get all of his stamina?" she mumbled, amazed that Aether had so much energy.
"Sorry Lumine, I just needed to see it," he said, obviously referring to Wangshu Inn.
Lumine sighed as she rested on her back, "Just go."
"What?" Aether said, confusion written on his face.
"I said go," she waved for her brother to leave.
"Wait, I can't just leave you alone. I can wait."
"I know you want to see him, plus I'll just be a third wheel and it'll all be awkward." She rested her eyes, "I'll just sleep for a while, then I'll catch..." She yawned before embracing the effects of sleep.
A smile appeared on his face, he would definitely have to thank Lumine later.
Aether was off. He was quite nimble as he climbed down the mountain, he then rushed through the field full of uncut grass and avoided other obstacles like potholes. He was quick with it and had no plans of stopping.
He stepped into the elevator and arrived at the top, he walked around until he found the front desk. He got strange looks from a lot of people, his clothes were different to theirs, he guessed as times change so do the clothes that people wear.
"Excuse me," he spoke to the lady behind the desk. She had short brown hair and her uniform was pretty standard for a worker.
"Welcome, how can I help you?" She asked the blonde.
"I would like to order something."
"Order anything from the menu above," she pointed upwards.
He looked up and scanned the board, the dish he wanted was not there. He sighed, "Would you be able to make almond tofu?" Aether questioned.
"I can ask the chief for you," The blonde nodded as she walked off, probably to the kitchen.
"Sir, here is your order of almond tofu." the desk lady said, handing Aether the plate of almond tofu.
Aether gladly accepted the dish and handed the lady the right amount of mora.
He found himself making his way to the highest floor where he found a balcony. Taking a peek, he surprisingly found that there was nobody in sight, he smiled as it was the perfect place. He went to the edge and placed the tofu on the balcony railing.
He stepped a few steps back and jumped on the roof out of sight.
Just as he hid a gust of wind swirled in one spot and appeared an adeptus. They looked around for the person who had offered the almond tofu but he was confused when he saw no one.
Aether lightly jumped down not making a sound as he landed, trying his best to remain unnoticed.
Who's there," the raven spoke.
Aether froze hearing their voice, he had missed it so much.
The other turned and was in shock when his eyes laid upon the blonde, instantly recognising him. He wanted to speak, but he wasn't sure what to say.
He stared into the eyes of the raven. He had missed that look, he missed his rich golden eyes.
The adeptus shook his head, "You're-" he tried to speak but stopped when he was suddenly hugged by the blonde.
"Yo- you came back," he finally said. Instantly hugging the blonde back, small tears forming in the corner of his eyes.
"Of course I did. I was surprised I was able to stay away for so long." He stroked the back of Xiao's head, also taking the chance to notice his hair had grown quite a lot.
"Took you long enough.." Xiao rested his head on the blonde's shoulder, not wanting this moment to end.
