Luckily Amy's father let her stay with us and I was sure that Evelien would find a way to turn her back to human. Once the king left I felt my legs giving out and I fell on the ground again, my wound still hurting. All of them became worried but I just took a deep breath and nodded that I was fine. It's nothing I wouldn't survive.

"Are you okay, Jack?" I asked and he nodded then looked at Evelien wanting her to explain what happened.

"The arrows were poisoned, but he's back at full strength again," she said.

"Good," I took another deep breath and tried to sit up again, slowly but surely to avoid hurting myself more. "We have to go. There must be a place where nobody knows us so we can all start over."

"Mark, Jack is still a dragon," started Evelien. "Wherever we go the people will get on our neck immediately."

"I know, but with Linda's book you can turn him back to human, right?" I said as I was lookong at Jack, but Evelien knew I was directing the question towards her.

When no answer came from her, I looked at her waiting. That's when I saw that her hesitation was coming from fear... Fear of failing like Linda did... Fear of losing Jack. Of course. Even if we all would believe in her, she'd still be worried that something would go wrong. And she is right, a lot of thing could go wrong, but trying out the spell once again is our best shot. Otherwise, there could be a lot worse to happen. Jack staying as a dragon would mean that he will constantly be a target for a lot of hunters, the army, the church. Everybody would want his blood and him beheaded.

"Evelien, this is the only way to solve our problem. He can't stay in this form, he'll be a constant target, his life would be endangered."

"I know that, of course I know the consequences of him being a dragon." she said with tears in her eyes, but angry at the same time about this situation. "But I'm not Linda. I'm nowhere near as good as her. And she failed the spell too. Imagine what would happen to all of you if I tried..."

Jack all of a sudden growled at her, not to scare her but in a way to argue with her statement. And whatever was going through his head I totally agree with him. If he thinks the safest play would be trying out the spell, then sure... But if he is afraid as well... Well, I can't blame him, I'd be scared too. Because this decision is a very important step in his life, it could easily change his whole future.

Evelien looked at him with tearful eyes and she was trying to read Jack's expression. Jack on the other hand looked at her with determination and confidence, not sure whether he believed in his strength or Evelien's skills, but either way, he was sure about the spell. He walked up to her, nudging her cheek with his nose, reassuring her that everything will be fine. She hugged him around his neck, crying her eyes out, then she leaned her forehead against his, trying to calm herself down.

"I can do it." she said barely above a whisper, just so everyone around could hear her. "Whatever it takes, I'll do it. And I won't stop until I succeed, because I can't lose you. You are way too important for all of us... you are way too important for me."

"Okay, that's settled then. What about Amy?" I asked once Evelien and Jack stopped hugging. It's important to discuss Jack's fate, sure, but there are other issues we have to solve.

"I'm sure there is a spell for her in the book too. The question is whether it's been used before or not." said Evelien as she looked at Amy amd her scaled tail. "It might be just as dangerous as the dragon spell."

"You know already what my answer is." Amy smiled at her.

With that settled as well there was only one more thing we had to discuss. All four of us looked at the three little kids, Abigail still sitting beside Amy ans her brothers standing behind her. They probably understood why we were looking at them because Fergus spoke up.
