"Umm... It was a wolf," he said, looking away.

"It's way bigger than a wolf," I said when he quickly stood up and tried to reach the door.

"I'm fine if that's what you want to know." he still tried to go by me, but I didn't let him.

"I want to know what happened," I said and pushed him back.

"I can tell you, but you won't believe me." he resisted, but I just looked at him. "Sorry, but I need to go."

"No, you stay here," I said and pushed him back again, so I could quickly leave and lock back the door. "If you don't tell me, I go and bring the soldiers here, because I don't want to be in trouble like you."

"Wait! Mark, you don't understand this..."

"Then explain, so I can understand," I said, but he was still banging on the door. "I really don't want to give you to them, because I know you have an explanation, but if you're still going to resist I won't have much choice."

I said and the banging stopped. He was in silence and I didn't want to speak too, because I want to finally hear what is going on with him.

"It was a bear trap," he said after a while.

"Wha... How?" I chuckled. "You lied down on it to take a nap or what?"

"Don't be stupid..." he said seriously. "You know exactly how it happened because you were there."

"When?" I asked, then something made me think. "Wait..."

Is he that creature who was stuck into the bear trap? But it had a wing and he is just a human... No that can't be. He is probably lying.

"I can tell you what happened that night to prove to you that I'm telling the truth. But please, let me out. I want to talk with you in a normal way."

I took a deep breath then opened the shed's door and let him out. He stepped in front of me, hanging down his head.

"I was walking in the forest because I tried to hide away from the soldiers. Then I saw you running from the wolves, so I thought I need to help you. When I was fighting with the wolves one of them bit me. I was on my way home because my wound hurt so much, but the soldiers were still there, so I followed you to your home. After that, I don't remember what happened, but I was so relieved that I was still here."

"And the running away then?"

"You saw that my wound healed within a night, and I thought you were not ready to find out the truth," he answered.

"So what are you? Are you a wizard then?" I asked because this whole thing was so confusing now.

"No, I'm a half-dragon."

"Dragon?" I asked and that was when he took the armor off of his arm.

He took the cloth off as well and under, his arm was covered with green scales and he had claws too at the end of his fingers. So it was truly him, who saved me.

"I can't show my wings though, because it would hurt a lot with these wounds," he said and wrapped his arm back, but he didn't put the armor back.

"Right. How long does it take? I'm just curious"

"Well, it's really deep, so maybe it needs 2 days to fully heal," he said and looked at his injured side.

"Okay, until then, you stay here," I said and turned around to leave.

"Is it a request or an order?" he asked curiously, following me outside and when we were out I closed back the door and answered.

"Both."

He smiled and we went back to the house. He sat down on my bed while I sat on a chair to collect my thoughts. Is he really a dragon? But how?

"Are you okay?" he asked.

"Oh, yeah. I'm just.... confused." I said, rubbing my head. "How is this possible?"

"What? Being a dragon?" he asked and looked at me like he knew the whole time what I was thinking about.

"How do you..."

"I don't know if I should drag you into this more. Only if you really want to know my story, but... as you said, you can be in big trouble."

"I'm already in big trouble, so what can I lose?" I asked and sat in front of him. "So, how are you a half-human and half dragon?"

"Well, believe it or not, I'm actually a dragon." he started.

"Really?"

"Yes, and a witch turned me into a human. But something went wrong and this is the consequence," he said and showed me his arm again.

"How did you meet with that witch?"

"She found me when I was still in my egg form," he said and covered his face, chuckling. "It's so weird to say this."

"You are a dragon after all," I said, laughing with him.

"Anyway, she brought me to her house and grew me up. You need to know that my parents.... were killed. And that's why she kept me." he stopped and looked down at his feet.

"My parents died in the plague when I was 15, so I've been alone since that day," I said to break the silence and show my sympathy that I know what it's like to lose your parents.

"That's sad too. So, you don't have wife or..." he asked, looking back up at me.

"I just haven't found the right one yet. Maybe I should look for her somewhere else." I shrugged my shoulder. "And what about you?"

"You know, the ladies are always attracted to bad boys." he smiled widely.

"But not to dragons."

We laughed when a knock was heard on my door. I stood up and signed to Jack to go back out. He nodded and left through the back door. If it's the soldiers again, then I need to come up with a lie again. I opened the door and it was Felix.
