"But how? What happened? She thought you were dead." said Evelien and Jack sat back down on the bed.
"I thought the same," said Jack. "When I woke up I couldn't find her. The fire was spreading fast and I was scared. So I thought I should run away."
"She was so heartbroken..." said Evelien and she sat beside Jack.

"Is this really going to help?" asked Seán as he stood beside his mother and watched her stirring the potion in the big cauldron.
"This will turn you into a human forever," she said and looked at Seán. "Only of course if you want this..."
"Yes, I do," said Seán and nodded in determination.
Linda continued to stir the potion until it's color turned from purple to white. She then put the last ingredient into the white mixture and stirred it again.
"This is a completely new recipe... I've never tried this before and I'm scared," said Linda as she turned to Seán, looking into his eye. "I don't want to lose you."
"Everything is going to be fine, I'm sure of it," said Seán confidently and grabbed his mother's hands. "I know it will work."
"If this is really what you want..." said Linda and smiled at her son.
Seán nodded again and Linda hugged him. She was really scared that she might lose him forever if this potion turned out to be bad for him. As she released him she took a deep breath and turned back to the cauldron. She grabbed a wooden bowl and filled it with the potion. She handed it to Seán then put her hands together, watching Seán carefully. He drank the full bowl of potion then took a deep breath as he looked at Linda. He didn't feel anything weird like nothing happened. Linda relieved a bit but suddenly the cauldron started boiling and it exploded. The cauldron fell in the fire, rolling the burning wood out from the fireplace. The fire from the wood spread across the whole room and soon the house was completely on fire. Seán became unconscious from the explosion because he stood closer to the cauldron. Linda hit her head too as she was thrown against the wall, but she remained conscious. She rubbed her head then she realized that the fire was spreading fast in the room. Seán was lying on the floor and Linda had to help him no matter how quick the fire was. She ran up to him and picked him up then tried to leave the house as fast as possible. She kneeled on the grass when she was at a great distance from the house and placed Seán down too. She looked back at the house and she just wanted to cry. Then she thought about the potion... She just hoped that Seán wasn't in any danger because of it.
As she turned back to Seán to wake him up she heard horses coming from the forest. She looked up with fear in her eyes and her fear became real as soon as she saw 6 horses with their owner on their back... The king's soldiers. Without any word, they went up to Linda and one of them grabbed her by her arm after they got off of the horse.
"Wait..." started Linda, but the soldier didn't listen to her. "Please..."
The soldier yanked at her arm demanding her to stand up then he pulled her to the others. Linda freed herself from the soldier's grip and ran back to Seán, but another soldier got off of his horse too and now it was two of them. They grabbed Linda again, but this time she couldn't do anything. She tried to resist, but the soldiers were stronger. They tried to get her on a horse, but without any luck, so they hit her on her head and she became unconscious. The two soldiers put her on one of the horses back and they sat back on their horses.
"What about him?" asked one of them as he looked at Seán.
"The order was to get the witch. We have her." said another one of them and with that they heeled the horses' sides.
They went straight to the city where they came from without stopping. It didn't take long and they reached the gate of the city. The horses ran through the city as fast as possible until they reached the market place, where the stake was already standing. The local priest knew that a witch was living in the forest nearby and he wanted to get rid of her as fast as possible, so when three citizens told him that they knew where the witch was living exactly he didn't wait. One soldier got down from his horse and took Linda too, putting her on his shoulder. He went up to the stake, where two other men tied her to the standing log. That was when Linda woke up and as she realized what was happening so she started screaming, getting the citizens' attention. They all gathered up and they watched as the two men finished tiding her hands together. She saw Robin at the front of the crowd and his eyes were filled with fear.
"Save him," shouted Linda to the sky, so the soldiers wouldn't know who she was speaking to. "Please, protect him from them."
Linda looked back down at her feet then at Robin who was still standing there shocked. He saw as Linda started crying and he knew immediately what he had to do, so he turned back and tried to go through the crowd of people. He was running out of the city, but he could still hear the priest's voice as he spoke up.
"Come and witness the power of our all mighty god..." started the priest as he raised his hands in the air. "This woman is sinful to her heart and her soul is captured by the evil. She is the one by whom the end of our life will come. She has a creature an evil and dangerous creature, created by this woman to bring fear and misery to all of us"
"He is not my creation" started Linda as she looked at the priest with anger. "Your praised God is the one who brought him to this world."
"Silence!" ordered the priest which made Robin stop in his track and turned back to the scene at the market place. "You all can see how sinful she is. She doesn't have any respect for our God. Please my Lord save her. Let this holy fire clean her sinful soul."
With that, the stake was set on fire and the burning flames consumed Linda. Robin couldn't watch this so he kept running and hoped that nobody would follow him into the forest. He ran as fast as he could until he reached Linda's house, but it was now completely burnt down and only the ashes remained with and unconscious Seán. Robin ran up to him sitting on the ground and turning Seán on his back. He was still breathing
"Seán, wake up!" said Robin gently shaking his friend to wake him up.
Seán growled a bit and rubbed his head then he slowly opened his eyes. He was confused at first when he saw his friend's face, but then he sat up and looked around with fear.
"What happened?" asked Seán and Robin could clearly hear that he was scared. "Where is my mother?"
"I don't know exactly what happened here, but Linda..." Robin said, but couldn't finish his sentence.
"Where is she?" asked Seán waiting for an answer, but when it didn't come he started crying.
He buried his face in his hands and Robin sat closer to his friend and hugged him to comfort him. Seán knew and Robin was afraid that Seán would do something crazy to get his revenge on his mother. So right then and there he promised that no matter what happens, he will protect Seán with his life... and he promised this to Linda as well.
