Author's PoV

"You've got WHAT?" Taehyung's voice came out a little higher and a little squckier than usual.

Monday morning came quicker than a straight arrow, and with it the awkward exchange between the school's misunderstood rebel and the number one student; the first giving out a very detailed chemistry assignment while the latter offered life hacks and romantic advice.

The trade was supposed to be a simple one. Just like 1+1=2. But things changed over the weekend. Actually, things changed at Yoongi's party on Friday, and suddenly 1+1 equals something more than 2. At least for Taehyung.

"A date, with Namjoon." Jade responds with a puff, showing her nervousness.

Shaking his head quickly from side to side, he repeats. "Again... what?"

"It's not really a date. I just told him I've got a ticket to the same art exhibition as him. And he was all like: see you there. So... yeah."

"Art exhibition?" He snorts a chuckle. "You don't do art."

"I may have said I love paintings and sculptures."

"Paintings? Wow. You really are desperate."

"What should I have told him, huh? That my idea of fun is trivia night with my dad?"

"Is that your idea of fun?"

"No...." her voice lingered.

Jade was good at a lot of things, but lying wasn't one of them. Taehyung only needed to slightly lift his eyebrows in disagreement to make her admit the truth.

"Alright, it is, but only when it's history themed. I hate anatomy."

"Then that's what you should've said, dummy." He pushes her forehead with his index finger playfully.

"Yeah, sure, because that's so hot." She brushes off his comment, failing to notice his lingering stare.

It was to him.

Jade Park never left his mind since the party. He thought he was going crazy at first. Every time his mum asked him to go study, he saw Jade's knitted brows threatening him. Every time he opened and closed his deep green curtains, he remembered her eyes and her favourite colour.

The worst part though, was when his older, smarter and more handsome brother would cross paths with him. Then, he wasn't only reminded of Jade, he was also reminded of the fact he couldn't ever compare with the guy she's in love with.

Not like he cared anyway. Why would he ever care about Jade's love interest? He's only teasing the poor child to get some homework done and his mum's nagging off his back.

That's all it is.  Nothing more. Her and Namjoon could get married on the beach and ride horses into the sunset for all he cared.

"Why would you lie about that?" He couldn't hide his disappointment.

He thought he had Jade Park all figured out. Straight A's, nerdy, thinks-she's-better-than-everyone-else type of girl, but turns out, she wasn't as predictable as he expected.

The way she flirted back at the party? Or how she defended Taehyung in front of all those older guys? Never mind how she won almost a hundred bucks, beating their asses at poker.

I see you. *KTH* & *KNJ* ffWhere stories live. Discover now
