CHAPTER 13

LUCA BRUSCHWEILER POV

What!? I do not believe it!

After I wandered the cold streets looking for it, I had no idea!

How I was like a fool wandering through the cold air, looking for her place that turned out to be very familiar to me.

"So, you live here?" My voice breaks the silence of the night. I informed her of my presence, who was still walking behind her. I'm sure she'd also noticed my presence earlier because she didn't stop or turn when she heard my voice. She wasn't surprised either but continued walking towards the entrance of my apartment building.

After looking for her and wondering where she lives, it turns out that she lives near me. Great. Amazing. 'You really are an idiot, Luc' I cursed myself from the moment I stepped foot through the entrance of my apartment building. Our apartment. I followed her into the open elevator.

I couldn't talk to her because there was someone else in the elevator. I didn't press my floor button, waiting for her to do so. How my eyes widened, and I glanced at her in disbelief as she pressed against the floor of my apartment. Does she know my place? Or did she really live on the same floor?

'Good. It's fixed. I am really stupid,' I cursed myself again in my head as the elevator doors opened. With steady steps, Kim steps out of the elevator, and I follow her, leaving the man standing alone in the elevator busy with his cell phone.

Approaching my apartment door, I became hesitant. Could it be that she really knows my apartment, and knowing I'm following her, she leads me back to my apartment for me not to know where she lives?

My thoughts and doubts vanished as soon as she stopped in front of the door to the apartment right next to me. She took out the key and opened the door.

Great. I'm the greatest dumb!

"You've been living next to me all this time? You are my neighbor," I voiced my thoughts and stupidity as I followed her into the apartment with the same layout as mine before she could block me from entering. Good thing she didn't seem to be trying to throw me out of here. So I followed her deeper into the living area.

Kim took off the scarf wrapped around her neck, and I did the same because her place was already warm with the not-turned-off heater. Like I do in my unit. And I'm sure that's what everyone in this city is doing in this cold weather.

"What a fool I was to wander through those cold streets," I mumbled to myself, but I think she heard it because she turned her body to look at me. She smirked at me. Yeah, of course, she knows what I've been doing all along because she lives right next to me. But the question is, why have we never met before.

"Why haven't we met before. In the elevator or the hallway," I ask questioningly, and her grin grows wider. She even looked down on me. I admit that I am dumb. But who would have thought that the woman I was looking for lived right next to me.
