Harry and Ginnys house-
Harry's POV-
"I don't want to tell him Gin." I complained, "He's too young."
"Harry," Ginny retorted angrily, "He's four now. He deserves to know more about his parents, all he knows is that they can't see him. And with 'Dromeda in Saint Mungos."  I sighed sadly, Andromeda had been sent to the wizarding hospital after catching an infectious, and possibly fatal, disease.
"OK," I admitted defeat to my wife, losing yet another argument, "I'll tell him in a minute, before dinner." Ginny smirked triumphantly at me and grinned when I looked at my feet.

"Dada, Mama." I turned to see my one year old son, James Sirius Potter, standing in the doorway.

"Hey kiddo," I grinned, picking him up when he toddled towards me, "Are you hungry?" He nodded seriously and started sucking on his left thumb.

"I'll go get dinner on." Ginny smiled and, after kissing James on the cheek, left my study and started to head down the stairs.

"Lets go," I put him down and headed towards the door and out onto the landing, "I'll go get Teddy!" I shouted down the stairs to Ginny, knowing she wanted me to talk to him, and that I'd have enough time to explain before dinner.

"Hey Harry." Teddy was sitting on his bed, looking in a mirror and trying to choose a hair colour when I walked in.

"Hey Ted." I smiled at him, sitting beside him and hugging him close to me, "Are you trying to choose a colour for dinner?" I asked him, ruffling his mop of messy hair.

"Yeah." He smiled back at me, "Don't know what." He frowned as his hair changed to a bright yellow, making him look rather like a giant sunflower, "I like this one best." He said, trying to make his hair morph again, "Do you like it?" His hair changed to a floppy pale brown, much like Remus's, with a strip of bubblegum pink at the front. I could feel tears start to well in my eyes, but bit them down and smiled fondly at the young boy.

"I love it Teddy." I smiled at him.

"Where's the pink from?" Teddy asked me, fiddling with his hair. I hesitated before I answered, trying to keep myself from tearing up.

"Your Mum had hair like that Ted." I told him, sighing as he looked confused.

"Why did Mummy have pink hair?" Teddy asked me, looking up with his innocent brown eyes.

"She was a Metamorphagus." I answered and explained it when he put his head on one side, "She could change how she looked, just like you.  And pink was her favourite colour."

"When can I see Mummy and Daddy?" Teddy asked suddenly, letting go of my arm and turning on his bed to face me.

"You can't see them Teddy." I said gently, not wanting to finish telling him, "They're not here anymore."

"Where are they?" Teddy looked up at me at me.

"They're dead Teddy." I said sadly, pulling the little boy into a massive hug.

"Dead?" He asked me, his hair turning white in his shock. I nodded slowly.

"They died to save you Ted. They loved you very much." I told him, hugging the shaking boy even tighter. We sat on his bed, shaking and sobbing as we hugged.

After about five minutes Teddy pulled away from me and stared me right in the eye.

"I want a picture." He said to me, wiping tears from his eyes.

"Here." I reached into my pocket and took out a small box. He took it from me wordlessly and looked at it.

"A chocolate frog?" He asked, still trying to wipe away tears.

"It's a rare one." I smiled back at him, "I paid a lot for it, I knew you'd want it." Teddy ripped the packet off and shoved the frog into his mouth. I saw him hesitate a little before he picked up the card, understandingly nervous. He turned it over in his hands and smiled at the picture on the front.

"Thank you Harry!" He gasped, hugging me tightly, knocking my glasses off and squeezing more tears from his eyes.

"Do you want me to read it to you?" I asked him, hugging the little boy even tighter.

"Yes please." Teddy replied happily, sitting back and handing the card to me. On the front there was a picture of Teddy's parents. Tonks had her usual pink hair and was laughing silently, her head leaning on Remus's shoulder. He had one arm around her waist and was laughing just as much. I turned it over in my hands, pushing my glasses back onto my nose and started to read.

'Remus John Lupin (Order of Merlin 1st Class) and his wife Nymphadora Lupin (nee Tonks). Both were Members of the Order of the Phoenix, a group created by Albus Dumbledore to fight against Lord Voldemort. Remus, a known werewolf, and Nymphadora, a Metamorphagus, married in the Summer of 1997 and their only son, Edward Remus Lupin, was born soon after. When Edward was two weeks old, both parents were killed in the Battle Of Hogwarts- 2nd March 1998- leaving him as an orphan. The couple's portraits can be found in the Hall Of Memories at Hogwarts along with the other lost lives. This is a rare card, there are only ten in the world and this is one of them!'

I saw Teddy was crying again and put an arm around him.

"They really loved you Teddy." I told him, "More than anything."

"Why did they die?" He asked me, his hair a sad, light blue, "If they loved me that much, they wouldn't have died." I understood how he felt, but couldn't think of a good response.

"They wanted you to have the best life that you possibly could." I told him gently, "They wanted you to grow up in a world where there was no Voldemort, where you could be safe."

"Thank you." Teddy said, taking the chocolate frog card from me and looking at it, "My Mum's pretty, isn't she."

"Yes, she is," I replied, "And she loved you and your Dad with all her heart."

"Dinner you two." I suddenly heard Ginny yell up the stairs, "Don't let it get cold."

"Coming!" I shouted back to her before turning to Teddy, "Do you want me to put the card in a frame or do you want to carry it around."

"I want to carry it." Teddy assured me, slipping the card into his pocket as he jumped off the bed and stood up.

"What are you doing with your hair?" I asked him, "What colour?"

"Like my Mum's and my Dad's." Teddy grinned up at me, changing his hair to the sandy brown with a streak of pink.

"Let's go Ted, before Ginny shouts at us again." Teddy giggled and I shooed him out the door.

I ruffled his hair lovingly as he walked down the stairs in front of me.

"Your parents would be proud of you Ted." I told him.

"I'm proud of them." He replied, turning round and grinning at me through his big tear filled eyes.
