Teddy's POV-

"Come in first years." I sighed in relief when I heard a familiar voice.

"Hey Professor Longbottom." I grinned up at the face of a family friend, Neville Longbottom.

"You feeling alright Ted?" He asked me and I nodded happily.

"I'm fine, a bit nervous though." I fiddled with the chocolate frog card in my pocket, hoping they'd be proud of me.

"Right then," The Professor said, addressing all of us first years this time, "You will be Sorted soon, so follow me and we'll head on down to the Great Hall."

He turned on his heel and started walking off, all of us following him in a nervous clump. Before we reached the doors to the Hall, he stopped and turned to face us.
"There are four houses." He began, looking at each of us in turn, "Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin." I smirked to myself when I noticed that he put Gryffindor first and Slytherin last, "You will each have the Sorting Hat placed on your head and it will decide which house you should belong in. Are you ready?" He asked, smiling down at us, "In we go."

Neville pushed the door open and walked into the Great Hall. I was the first to follow him, my hair a confident dark blue. I could see people staring at my hair, nudging their friends and pointing. Metamorphagi are really rare and, as far as they were aware, I would be the only one they saw. Nyx was on one side of me and Izzi was on the other. I had a slight feeling that Alfie was behind me, trying to hide in my shadow.

When we were all stood at the front in an awkward huddle, Neville stepped forwards. He waved his wand and a stool with an old, battered hat on, appeared.

"Cool." I whispered in Nyx's ear and she nodded enthusiastically.

"You will come up to be Sorted when I call your name." Professor Longbottom told us, making a scroll appear out of thin air in front of him.
"Abbot, Storm." He announced and I watched as a sassy girl with jet black hair sauntered up to the stool. She seemed to have a heated argument with the hat before it finally yelled,
"GRYFFINDOR!" The girl smiled happily, handed the hat back to Neville and headed to the table on the far left which was cheering as loud as it could.

"Adams, Isobel." The professor announced and I squeezed Izzi's hand before pushing her towards the front.

"RAVENCLAW!" The hat yelled yelled the moment it touched her blonde hair. I cheered as loud as I could, sending her a thumbs- up as she walked over to her table. Alfie stepped next to me, almost shaking with nerves.

"You're next Alf." I whispered into his ear and patted his shoulder kindly as he turned a pale shade of green.

"Carter, Alfred." Alfie froze next to me and looked like he was about faint. Neville smiled encouragingly at him and called him up again.

"He'll be a hat-stall." Nyx whispered in my ear as we watched Alfie head up to the front. Professor Longbottom placed the hat on his head and sat Alfie down as soon as he reached him. The rim felt right down over Alfie's nose, making the whole hall snigger or laugh.

"I'd say two or three minutes tops." I replied to Nyx, guessing how long the hat would take to place him.

After about three minutes the hat said,
"Very difficult. But you'll do best in: GRYFFINDOR!!!" I cheered as Alfie stood up, his shaking knees almost giving way as he handed the hat back to Neville. He walked over to his table and flopped down next to Storm.

I watched as the group around me slowly started to disappear as each person was sorted into their new houses.

"Lupin, Edward." The professor said, looking down at me. I could feel a blush creeping up my cheeks and making my hair turn a shade of dark red. Behind me I heard a third year Hufflepuff say to her friend,
"The Lupin? He's well famous."
