"Kate, hurry up or we'll be late!" Said mom. "I'll be there in a minute!" I said, packing up what I wanted to take. I'm in a hurry doing this because my friend, June, moved to a new house and I'm gonna stay there for a week because my mom works at a camp and my dad is going to a business trip. He already left. My mom is going to leave me at June's house and then go to her camp. I looked at the clock in my room. 8:00? I'm supposed to leave at nine. Oh well, mom always tries to do things early. I threw on my jacket and socks. It took me a few more minutes to get ready. I came downstairs and put on my shoes. "It took you long enough." Said mom. "Well, we're always early." I said. "Good point." Said mom. "Let's go." It took about 6 minutes to get there. It used to be 31 minutes. I took my stuff and then guess what? Jane burst open the door and almost knocked me over with a hug. I think she was waiting. "Have a good time." Mom said. Then she drove away. "Hi bestie! How were you? What were you doing before you came here? What about your magi-" I put my hand over her mouth. I knew what she was gonna say. Luckily, no one was here. Then I put my hand back. "Sorry. Excited." She said. "No one's here, so it's okay." I said. "Let's go inside!" She said, pulling me into her house.
