Currently I am laying in bed staring at the rain streaming down the window to see which raindrop makes it to the bottom faster while my alarm screams in my ear. I really don't want to go to school today because of the storm that is hitting us this week making it cold and gloomy.

After a few minutes of my alarm having a screaming fit I throw my duvet off in a huff and harshly slap at my phone screen to end the obnoxious noise.

Lazily I drag my feet over to my closet pulling out a pair of jeans and a chunky white sweater knowing it's gonna be freezing today, and change into them. I quickly brush out my hair and grab my bag before going downstairs to be greeted by my parents. My dad is looking through a brown leather briefcase on the counter and my mom is feeding August, our fluffy white persian cat.

I drop my bag down next to the counter before grabbing a cereal bar from the cupboard.

"So, where'd you go last night?" My mum looked up from the counter, her eyes full of suspicion.

"Uh, library" I smiled back walking over to get a glass from the cupboard and fill it up at the tap

"With who?" My mom continued her questions, my dad stayed oblivious to the conversation as he stayed with his head peering into the briefcase

"Just a friend" I darted my eyes from the running water and over my shoulder to my mom. She had this look on her face where she didn't believe a word I was saying.

"Mhm" She mutters, pulling a mug from under the coffee machine once it beeps.

"Well it wasn't Tate, his car is silver not black" My dad chimed into the conversation

I stayed silent, turning off the tap and gulping down the glass of water before pouring the rest down the sink.

My parents know what happened between Tate and I yet they still have this strange fascination with him.

"I'm gonna be late" I grab my bag from the floor and speed walk to the door.

I am a terrible liar, they're gonna see right through me and then ground me for months, maybe even years. Oh god I'm gonna be grounded till I'm thirty!

"Remember a coat, it's raining a lot out there and it's supposed to get worse!" My mom calls out to me.

"Will do!" I drop my bag and grab my black coat from the hooks at the door.

"Oh and we're hosting a dinner for work tonight, so be home quickly!" She adds.

"Yeah okay, bye!" I slam the door behind me, quickly pulling my hood up to shield my face from harsh wind.

I made it to school with just under 5 minutes to spare. As I run to my first period I notice Tate and Emily talking at the lockers. This time seeing them doesn't really hurt. I don't feel betrayed and upset like I usually would. I just keep running to class.

I think knowing that I have other people than just them makes me not worry as much.

I walk into class just as the ringing from the bell sounds around the room, thanking the lord I am not late. I make my way over to my seat, which also happens to be next to Harry. Once he sees me walk in he smiles at me. "Hey." I whisper to him as I sit down.
