January, 2018
I woke up when I felt pain in my lower back. I rubbed my eyes before placing my right hand on my back, right where I felt the pain.
Then I remember that I slept on the sofa last night because of an argument I had with my fiancé, Robbie. We've been together for quite a while now, almost two years in fact. I really do love Robbie, but lately arguments have become more and more frequent.
They never used to escalate to the point where there would be a falling out, but now things are a little different. And I know this might sound very cliche and selfish but it's never my fault. Some nights a week I don't even know if he's coming home or not, or when he does he comes in at some unknown hour slurring his words. He says he's with the band, but I don't think the Milo Green studio smells like women's perfume and stripper.
And every time I press him about these things he denies them and then ends up falling asleep, only for us to play the exact same game the next day.
I get up off the sofa and head over to our kitchen, where I try to fix myself a fresh cup of coffee. I'm not filming anything at the moment, but I've just finished filming Infinity War so interviews and talk shows are going to be common around this time, people trying to get spoilers out of me.
As it turns out, we don't have anything to make a coffee with meaning I either go without, I get some ingredients or I go to the coffee shop down the road. I look out of the window to see that the weather looks nice, so I decide to go to the shop.
I head upstairs and walk into our bedroom. I find Robbie on our bed, his arms and legs stretched out wide like that of a starfish. I huff in annoyance and slowly walk over to the wardrobe to get some suitable running gear.
I grab some sneakers and leave our room. I throw on the clothes and leave for the coffee shop. I just hope that the paparazzi aren't up at this time so I won't be bothered, I just need some time to myself.
I make sure that there is a key under the plant pot before I set off on my little run. My cardio should still be good because of the shape I had to get into for the movie.
It takes about 5-6 minutes to get to the street. I'm all sweaty and out of breathe so I decide to walk the remainder of the way. It's still pretty early so there's not many people out and about, the sun is shining and the air is warm and yet the breeze makes for a cool setting.
As I walk, catching my breath, I notice a very attractive figure in the window of the coffee shop that I normally go to. She can't be a regular because I don't think I've ever seen them here before. I would have noticed her before.
She's wearing some black biker shorts and some stylish white trainers. A grey sweater covers her upper half and a blue cap covers the top of straight, dark brown hair. A baby blue cap.
I find myself staring and walk across the road to the shop. I have to constantly rip my eyes off her figure as she mindlessly draws on her little notepad that sits on her thighs.
The door opens with a ding and I walk in, trying my best not to look at the beautiful girl sat on my left.
I walk up to the normal barista who smiles when she sees me. There is a few other people in the shop but they're all sat down, dotted all over the place.
"Hi Elizabeth, the usual?" She asks, her smile making her the perfect person for greeting. Her name is Debora and she's a rather large woman with short blonde hair.
"Yes please." I say, putting on a smile until she turns around to make my drink.
It's just a regular latte with whipped cream and almond milk.
I turn around, looking at the woman again, but this time I can see her much more closely. Her jaw is sharp and defined, her eyes look a darker blue that's colour bounces off the sunlight beaming through the window.
Her hair falls lightly over her cheeks and tickles the end of her cute little button nose. She's the incarnation of beautiful.
"Miss Olsen, your drinks ready," Deborah pulls me out of my stare, but the girl in the baby blue hears her too. She turns to look at me, we make a short amount of eye contact before I quickly turn back to the counter.
I pay for the drink while I question my entire life. She definitely caught me staring, I thought. I struggle to gain the courage to turn around, knowing that she'll be there. I count to three and pivot but she's too engrossed in her drawing.
I take a glance at it as I walk past. It's an amazing drawing of a man sat across from her in the shop. Every detail is perfect, from the detailed emotions plastered on his face, all the way down to the contours of the mans jacket.
I smile to myself before stepping out, the last thing I hear before walking to the park to drink my latte is the ringing of the bell above the door.
I don't know what it is about this girl, but she's driving me crazy. And just the split second that we made eye contact I felt the bottom of my stomach ignite. And the last time I felt that was...
