1. Tattood Heart

8 August 1952

Maia woke up to her buzzing alarm at 10am. Sitting up, smiling, she couldn't believe she was leaving for college in 4 days. She got up and went to the bathroom to brush her teeth, wash her face and get ready for the day. There was still a few things to pack up before she leaves.

Mrs Dalton called her to come down for breakfast and she rushed down after getting dressed because she knew the rest of her family were vultures when it came to food, especially breakfast. If they didn't eat breakfast, they'd be in a bad mood the entire day.

Although maia was hungry, she was anxious and didn't want to eat because she thought about college the entire time. She didn't know if she should be scared or excited. She was both.

After graduation, maia didn't go immediately to college. She wanted to work in the family business for 4 years so she could fund for her college tuition as well.

The rest of the family then came down for breakfast looking grumpy already. Maia thought to herself that she was going to miss this. Especially teasing her little sister Emma.

"I cannot believe you're going off to college in a few days. My little forensic anthropologist" maia's father spoke with almost tears in his eyes and maia just smiled and thought about how much she's going to miss her family . Forensic anthropology is what maia always wanted to do. She would be studying at Howard University : College Of Medicine in Washington DC.

All maia ate for breakfast was a banana and toast with butter. She couldn't eat anything else because her nervous system was a wreck. She decided to get some fresh air, last of the hyannis port air before she left.

Sitting on the swing outside on the porch taking it all in that she would be leaving the place called home, comes her prince charming, Jack. They'd been together for 3 years, since maia was 19. She was now 22.

"good morning my love" jack said in a very happy mood "good morning handsome" maia greeted back after jack had given her kiss on the lips. Jack sat down next to her putting his arm around her while maia rested her head on his shoulders.

"4 more days and then you're off to college princess " jack said to her giving her another kiss but this time on top of her head. "i still can't believe it jack, but you promise to visit regularly right" maia asked jack" what, of course I'll visit you sweetheart. I don't know how I'm going to handle it with you not being around, although i will be busy campaigning all over to keep me busy ".

"im really scared and nervous at the same time jack" maia said looking up at her achingly beautiful boyfriend. "you're gonna do great kid and before you know it, you'll be done with college" jack replied.

Mr dalton stepped outside on the porch to see maia and Jack. "Good morning Jack, it's good to see you" maia lifted her head from jack's shoulder to see her dad smoking his first cigarette of the day" oh good morning Mr dalton, it's good to see you too" Jack waved and smiled.

Maia realized she was supposed to continue packing but she was totally not in the mood and then asked Jack to help her pack. He ended up agreeing and she couldn't thank him enough.

The two began packing the rest of maia's things into bubble wrap. Maia was packing the rest of her books when Jack stood behind her coming close to her neck in order to kiss it. Maia gasped and turned around facing jack smiling. Jack kissed maia on the lips softly and she returned the kiss. This was heaven for her always.

They both realized it was time for a break from packing her things. Jack placed maia on the edge of her bed and then kneeling down in front of her. "jack are you crazy, my parents are literally down stairs" maia softly said in a panic mode. "just relax, they won't hear anything" jack said with maia giving him a concerned look knowing damn well she's always loud when they're intimate .

Maia gave in thinking this might be the last time she and Jack have sex for a long time. Before Jack could go further, they heard footsteps causing them both to stand up very quickly and continue packing pretending like nothing was gonna happen in that bedroom.

Noon

Maia and Jack were finally done packing when he suggested they go out for a while and she agreed because she could do with getting out of the house for a while. Maia grabbed her bag and they both left.

"mom, jack and i are going out for a while, is that okay?" she asked mrs dalton, nora said it was okay for her to go so long they don't come home extremely late.

Maia thought it was a good idea to go get burgers with milkshakes and go chill at their favorite spot for the last time, Jack agreed and they went.

Their special place was always by the docks because that's where jack asked maia to be his girlfriend and said their " i love you" the first time.

Maia took it all in and then realizing that she's gonna miss this place so much but it's not like she wasn't gonna come back right?
