7. Thinking About You

31st December 1952

"I've been thinking about you, yeah I've been missing you"

It was just another night for Maia and Ava. It was new years eve. The two had no plans to go out or anything. Ava was doing a pedicure and a facial. Maia was writing in her journal at her desk but was also in a daze. She was getting over Jack but her mind just kept going back to him and she hated it.

"i could still hear your voice"

Maia's mind went back to june, summer of 1951

"Jack what are you doing?" Maia said standing up running after him because he took her paint brush in the middle of a painting session . "Give it back please" she added slightly giggling.

"Give me a kiss first" Jack said hovering over her, making Maia roll her eyes.
"Give me my brush back first" she said looking at him with puppy eyes
"I asked for a kiss first" he added
"Fine" Maia responded

Maia gave what Jack wanted and it resulted in them making out. He dropped the paint brush before picking Maia up around his waist and slightly slamming her against a wall before continuing to makeout with her sweet lips.

Maia began moaning as Jack's lips were kissing her soft spot against her neck. This was her weakness when she was with him. He always knew how to drive her crazy no matter where they were.

He once fingered her at the dinner table with her parents and Mr and Mrs Kennedy present. They thought something was wrong with her when she kept closing her eyes every few seconds. When they asked what was wrong, Jack smirked pretending he wasn't the cause of what she was doing then adding "yeah what is wrong?".

She lied and said she's having bad period cramps. They believed her as Mrs Kennedy offered her pain tablets. She had to pretend to take it in order to not make it obvious as to what was really going on.

Jack was laughing hysterically at her.
"This isn't funny jack" she told her hitting him softly
"Oh it is definitely funny!" he said still laughing till he was red as a tomato.

Maia snapped back into reality realising that Jack was completely gone now.

"i don't have you here with me, but at least I have a memory"

It was now 30 minutes to go until the new year and maia couldn't wait to start fresh. She couldn't wait to let go of the nightmare she went through these few months. She was really looking forward to moving on, healing and finding herself.

"come on M, it's almost time" Ava said whilst standing up from her bed. It was the annual fireworks at the university and they could watch from their dorm room.

This was it. Bring on 1953

5,4,3,2,1 HAPPY NEW YEAR

The fireworks went off and maia thought it was the most beautiful thing. It brought happiness to her heart. Something worth smiling about.

"New beginnings Ava " she said with excitement putting her arm around her
"New beginnings Maia" Ava said to maia while doing the same. They held each other tight and there it was. A new year.

"And I've been waiting, waiting patiently cause I don't have you here with me but at least I have a memory"
