"Maia"

"Jack"

He couldn't believe it was her. Her hazel eyes staring into his dark blue ones. After 10 years, she was still beautiful as ever he thought.

"Hi" he said

"Hi" she responded with her voice a bit shaky

The staring went on for about a few more seconds. They were really taking in each other's presence and couldn't believe they were standing in front of one another.

Maia looked down because she got nervous around him. She always did, even after 10 years. She wasn't in the mood to talk to him right now.

"Uhmm I have to go" she said rushing past him up the stairs.

He just stood there watching her go inside.

Maia's heart has never beat so fast. She couldn't believe she had seen him. He was still handsome as always.

She stood by the door for a while before she greeted everyone.

There they were. The other Kennedy siblings.

"Hi guys" she said loudly causing all of them to look.

"oh my goodness Maia" bobby shouted first while walking to hug her.

After bobby gave her what felt like the longest hug, the other siblings came over to say hi and gave her hug as well .

There were small chatter amongst Maia and the siblings. They wanted to know every detail of how she's doing and how she'd been after all these years.

She noticed a woman who looked familiar. There she was. Jackie Kennedy. The woman jack broke her heart for. She holds no grudge.

Eunice continued to speak to her when she was asked if she saw jack yet.

"I got him outside on my way here" Maia said
"Oh and how was it?" she continued to ask concerned.
"I guess okay, a bit weird" she said with a small smile
"I can imagine how awkward it must have been to see him after all these years" Eunice said
"Oh it's fine, long past that" maia said

They finished up their conversation and maia walked over to mrs kennedy to greet her when she introduced jackie to her.

She did not expect this to happen.

"Nice to meet you, I heard alot about you" Jackie said

Heard alot about me? Maia thought. Did jack talk about her? Did mrs kennedy mention something?

"It's nice to meet you too" Maia said awkwardly shaking her hand.

She walked over to Ava who was chatting away with ethel who then rushed up to give Maia a hug.

"It's so good to see you Maia"

"You too ethel" she responded

Everything suddenly felt awkward. Why?. Was it because Jack was here?.

Bobby, Teddy and Maia were chatting about their childhood when the one and only, Jack walked in.

There it was again. The staring. Maia felt that stare through her soul but continued to feel the chemistry between them.

Hold up. Why was there suddenly chemistry between them?. Was she still in love with him still after 10 years but didn't realize it ? Did he still love her as well?.

She just brushed it off and looked the other way to Bobby who was still talking about being the attorney general.

Both of them continued to talk about their jobs and the conversation continued to flow until mrs kennedy called everyone to come and eat.

Everyone rushed to the table and there it was AGAIN, the staring for a short while before they both sat down across from each other. Oh no. This is gonna be awkward.

It was a good 20 minutes into Thanksgiving lunch and everyone seemed to be enjoying each other's company.

Maia still felt eyes on her from the person across.

"So Maia I heard you're working for the FBI now?" bobby mentioned

She felt everyone's stare on her and gulped hard before she answered

"Yes, I actually work with the FBI" she answered back to bobby putting an emphasis on the word "with".

"Working with hoover I see" Jack said with a small laugh causing her heart to beat so fast.

"Yeah uh" she continued to stall almost not getting her words out

"ye-yes I am" she said looking at jack with a small smile.

She felt like she was about to have a panic attack.

The silence was loud for 2 minutes while everyone watched Maia and Jack staring at each other. I think everyone in the room felt that.

Maia gulped hard again and looked down at her food. She was nearly done and continued to finish the rest of her food.

Everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving lunch and gave it time for desserts later on.

Maia told her mom she was going to fetch the cake next door and hurried out quickly.

Maia was sort of relieved that she got out of there and needed a breather.

Jack watched her go and was contemplating whether he should go after her. To his coincidence, mrs dalton said she forgot to ask Maia to bring the other dessert when she came back . He took this as an excuse to see her.

"I'll go get it, it's okay" he said with a little chuckle walking out the door

Jack was somehow feeling nervous to go next door. It had been 10 years since he last saw her and he felt somewhat happy.

Everyone on the other hand, was concerned that he was going next door because Maia would be there. It could be good or it could be bad.

5 minutes later

Maia was standing by the kitchen window drinking water when she was startled by his voice causing her to drop the plastic glass.

"I am really sorry for scaring you" Jack said

"Oh don't worry about it" she responded nervously

And there it was once AGAIN. THE STARE. The stare that caused them not being able to take their eyes off each other. The stare that made them feel things. The stare that caused the sudden chemistry between the two of them.

"uh I'm coming to get the dessert your mom wanted you to bring" Jack said nervously

"yeah sure" Maia said while grabbing it out of the fridge and handing it to him.

There was a sudden spark when she touched him while giving the item to him.

"Thank you Maia" he said in a sweet way causing her to feel butterflies

Uh oh.

"You're welcome Jack" she said his name softly causing him to smile

Were they both feeling this?

"No no no this can't happen" maia thought to herself.

Jack left.

Maia needed to take in what happened between them.

She wasn't gonna let this get to her.
