14. Take Me Back

2nd August 1952

It was a hot early evening and Maia was still relaxing alongside the pool while Lem and Jack were in the water clowning each other.

Everyone was getting ready to watch the fireworks and the children were having fun playing outside while the sun was setting .

Jack, Lem and Maia decided they were going to watch the firework show down by dock later on tonight.

Mrs kennedy called everyone for supper. Tonight's menu was the poolside special : hotdogs and hamburgers.

"We'll be there soon" Jack said while still in water playing ball with Lem

Maia just rolled her eyes then got up to go and eat leaving the two idiots. Everyone else already got their food and were having conversations. Gatherings with the kennedy's were always fun and memorable.

Jack and Lem eventually walked in with their towels around their waist ready to eat.

"Damn I'm starving" Jack groaned

"No one said take that long to get out" Maia said rolling her eyes while smiling.

"I know I should have listened my love " Jack said before planting a kiss on her forehead.

They just looked at each other with the sweetest smile. But God was Jack's smile the most beautiful thing she'd ever got to witness.

After a while everyone was already done eating when Jack said he was going to take a quick shower and freshen up before the fireworks.

Lem had already showered and was having a conversation with Maia.

"I wonder what hot studs are going to be there" he told Maia

"Oh you reckon there will be? " she asked

"I am definitely confident there will be" Lem said

They both just laughed.

The three of them were driving down to the dock with Lem in the back and Maia of course in the front seat.

The beach dock was a bit packed with young college students and couples waiting for the fireworks.

Jack parked the car with Lem getting out saying he was gonna find a spot leaving Maia and Jack alone in the car.

The two sat in silence for a while till Jack broke it by kissing Maia on the lips practically wanting to make out with her.

"Whoa slow down soldier, my lips aren't going anywhere" she said laughing

"I know I just miss making out with you" Jack said winking at her

"Well you could have asked nicely" Maia said smiling then kissing Jack back.

The two were sharing a passionate kiss when Jack put his hand on her thigh then sliding it up her dress. Knowing where this was going she let him.

"May I?" Jack asked her

"You may" she replied before giving a soft moan after he rubbed her clit.

After sliding two fingers inside her, she grabbed his tshirt forcefully causing her to moan more when Lem decided it was a good time to come.

"I found a spot" he said standing at her side of the window.

"Yeah so did I" Jack said sarcastically

Maia then realized what he was referring to, looked at him with wide eyes.

The two of them smiling then Lem realized what was happening.

"I don't even wanna know what happened" Lem said shocked then laughed it off.

Jack and Maia got out of the car walking alongside Lem when some guy caught his eye.

"Someone is checking you out" Maia said teasing him.

"Oh please he's definitely isn't" Lem replied

"Well he's hot, you're hot, why not?" Maia said laughing

The three continued to walk to spot Lem found and it was 10 minutes till the fireworks were gonna go off.

Everyone seemed to be having a great time around their friends and significant others while the trio sat down watching the view. Maia decided to sit in front of Jack wanting to be in his arms.

5 minutes till fireworks

"I wanna do this with you forever" Jack said to Maia in her ear

She looked up at him smiling

"I do too" she said before giving him a kiss

At this point everyone was doing the countdown when Maia and Jack stood up to join in.

He wrapped his arm around her and pulled her close

5,4,3,2,1

Everyone was cheering for the beautiful fireworks going off when Jack said something Maia did not expect to hear instantly

"You know what would be crazy? If we got married. Right here"

She was trying to process what he had just said

"Like right now?" she asked him

"Yes right now" he said before pulling a ring out

Her eyes widened

"I wanted to propose first but I think I'm not patient enough to wait" he said. "You're the love of my life Maia Marie Dalton".

"Let's do it" she said smiling at him then kissing him

"Yeah?" he said

"Yeah" she replied

Lem was seen talking to the guy that caught his eye when Maia and Jack walked up to him telling him what they were about to do.

"Wait are you guys serious?" he asked excited

They asked Lem to officiate the small ceremony and he happily agreed to do so. Bringing the handsome fella along with him, he officiated their little wedding at small nearby church that happened to be open.

Maia and Jack officially got married before she left for college.

They wanted to celebrate by having ice cream at the diner and they did just that.

"Congratulations to the beautiful couple" said the guy Lem brought with. His name was Michael

"Thank you very much" Maia said smiling then kissing Jack.

"Thank you Michael" Jack said smiling

The four of them continued to have a conversation with lots of laughter and ice cream until they decided they wanted to leave. Lem said he was gonna go with Michael so Jack and Maia can have their "time" together.

"I will see you later" Lem told Jack

"Please bring him back in one piece" Jack then turned to Michael

"I will definitely" Michael said nervously laughing

Maia and Jack got into the car and couldn't wait to get their hands on each other.

"Mrs Kennedy" Jack said

"Mr Kennedy" Maia said back laughing

Jack then drove to a secluded place where he made love to her in the most extraordinary way. The best she's ever had with him.

He gave her the most gentle kiss on her forehead then cuddle her afterwards.

"I love you" Jack said sweetly placing another kiss on her head.

"I love you too" Maia said taking his hand in hers.

They were now husband and wife.

She was now "Maia Kennedy". At least she thought she was going to be forever .
