🐈‍⬛ POV

"Stay still." Chloe hissed through her teeth, "These bandages aren't gonna unwrap themselves. So, stop opening your yapper and stay still. La bonté. [Goodness.]"

I rolled my eyes and she pulled the bandages away from my face, and her eyebrows scrunched.

"Damn, it hasn't changed one bit." she grumbled angrily, moving hair out of my face so she could more clearly look at the scar. "Does this hurt?" she asked, before lightly grazing the scar with her finger.

"Ow!" I shrieked, falling backwards in the chair, causing the whole chair to fall backwards.

"Oh god. It hurts that bad? Est-ce que ça va? [Are you okay?]" she gasped, agape.

"Non." I muttered, before hearing the door open and slam close. "Luka."

"Bonjour." he sneered, walking into the room and tossing his bag on the floor. "I would ask what's going on here but I'm too pissed to care right now."

Chloe sighed, turning to her partner. "Run in with Nino again?"

"Oui." Luka frowned, nodding.

I sighed, struggling to get back up. "We gotta find a way to get you two friends again. It's gone a little out of hand."

He hummed, nodding reluctantly. He looked at me before frowning deeper. Is the trucs noirs [black stuff] still there?" he grabbed my chin and moved it around, making it possible to examine my face without he himself moving.

"Malheureusement. [Unfortunately.]" Chloe said softly. "I can't believe it still hurts after 4 years. Like, I get that you were cataclysmed but this is ridiculous."

"Hey, it's not my fault Plagg got mad at me."

"It kinda is." Luka said.

"Quiet before I cataclysm both of you."

***

Damn it.

Rain.

I both love and hate rain.

I love it well, because of Marinette.

I hate it because.. well, Marinette.

And I didn't have an umbrella. Which was nice. I guess.

I also walked here. My car is at home. With Marinette.

Should I ask Marinette to come here?

No. I'm not a chicken.

I think.

I'm going to walk home, I decided, no harm walking in the rain, right? It's not the worst thing in the world. Besides, rain has a therapeutic sound. I smiled, and finally concluded that I would walk home. No shame in walking, correct?

Wrong.

Once I arrived home, I was soaked, as it started raining hard once I was a few minutes into walking.

I opened the door and it creaked open.

"Welcome home Ad- w- woah! You're soaked! Get inside before you catch a cold. Unless you've already a cold.. J- just get inside!"

I rushed in and practically fell into my fiancé.

"Good lord, you're freezing." Marinette muttered, helping me balance myself. "Go take a hot shower, chaton. I'll be out here waiting for you."

I groaned. "Too tired to move."

"I'll throw you in myself then."

"You can try."
