The chapter before the chapter

They were on a picnic again, this time on the beach. Why would they have a picnic on the beach? He didn't know but mother knew best and the whole scene looked pretty. The soft breeze ruffling through mother's hair and sundress made her more comfortable to look at than she usually was, and that was a bunch already.

She handed him a sandwich from the bag, PBJ made just the way he likes it. "C'mon love, eat up. I even toasted the bread with butter just for you." He munched through the first, his mother smiling at him. He did the same without opening his mouth too much because mother said it was rude.

He took another one. He had to focus on keeping it together because the wind was getting stronger. "Do you like it here love?" he nodded. She was looking into the distant ocean and coming waves.

                                                     "Well, I don't."

Sand was getting into his eyes and the whole place was becoming terrifying. It was getting harder and harder to breathe and he felt something was sneaking at him fast from where he couldn't see. He wanted to go home.

                                           "Honey, what's wrong?"

Blood was dripping from a spot under her beach hat. It was trailing down her nose and onto her teeth, making her smile horrifying.

She slowly reached out to him and as she got closer, he felt his heartbeat rise and rise and his mind telling him to run but he was frozen in place. He forced his eyes shut as hard as he could but he could still see her smile through the darkness.

                                         Then her hand made contact

                                            "Sir, sir? Are you alright?"

He looked at the woman for a moment and tried to figure out where he was. 'Ok Y/N in, out 1 2 3, 3 2 1. Breath. Breath. Breath.' "Um, sir do you need me to call the doctor on board?"

                                                          "It's fine"

She hesitated and insisted but soon enough, she went away . He sighed and fastened his seat belts as she told him. They were about to land.
