Chapter 28

Lexie POV
I woke up the next morning and I still felt ill, I ran to the bathroom and was sick.

"Babe are you ok?" Mason asked as I walked back into the bedroom. "I've been sick for the past few days." I confessed. "What? Why didn't you ring me?" He panicked. "What could you have done? I'm ok, it's just a sickness bug." "I'm not risking anything. Come on get ready, we're going to hospital." Mason said.

As we were waiting for the doctor to come back with my results, I felt my nerves taking over.

"Babe everything's going to be ok, I promise." Mason kissed my shoulder. "Good news Miss Southgate, you're perfectly healthy." The doctor said with a smile. "But what about the sickness?" I asked. "It's morning sickness. Congratulations you are 5 weeks pregnant." The doctor replied.

I felt my jaw hit the floor.

"Are you sure?" I asked. The doctor nodded with a smile. Mason was ecstatic. "Is the baby ok?" The Chelsea midfielder asked. "Your baby is healthy and I have no concerns."

The doctor gave us a minute and Mason was so excited.

"It was that night of the meal out." Mason winked, knowing how good that night was. "I can't believe it's happening." I said, trying to get over the news. "We'll be the best parents to our little one." He said, placing his hand on my stomach and then gently kissed my lips.

I didn't want to jinx it because of the last miscarriage but I am excited. Me and Mason are finally starting our family together.

Mason POV
I'm going to be a dad. The girl of my dreams is carrying my child. I need to do the right thing... I'm going to propose. I have been thinking about it for a while and I had already had bought a ring. I've been waiting for the right time to propose, it has to be perfect.

Lexie went out with the girls a few hours after we came back from hospital. I set up the house in a really romantic setting, flowers, candles, music, non alcoholic wine.

"Babe what's all this?" Lexie asked as she walked into the dining room. "Well I thought to celebrate we could have a date night. Just me and you, no paparazzi or anyone disturbing us." I smiled. Lexie didn't say anything apart from gently kissing me. "It's perfect Mr Mount." She smiled

As we were eating, I felt nervous. What if she says no. What if she doesn't like the ring? Lexie kept asking if I was ok which of course I said I was, just enjoying the company.

Okay it's now or never.

"Babe I need to ask you something." I finally spoke. Lexie's attention was now on me. I took a deep breath and looked up at her.

"I love you, I love you so much. We've been through a lot but I'm glad it's been with you. You are the most gorgeous, beautiful, funny, caring, loving person I've ever met. Since the first day I met you at the stadium, I knew you were going to have a big impact on my life and I was right. Now you're going to be the mother of our child, our little miracle baby. There is no one in this world who compares to you Lex. When I say you're stuck with me forever, I mean every word and I want to prove it." I spoke from my heart, trying not to let my emotions get the better of me.

Lexie was getting emotional and I tried to stay calm.

Lexie POV
Wow this boy is tugging at my heart strings right now.

Mason got up and went down on one knee. My heart started to race and I covered my mouth with my hands.

Oh my god!

"Lexie Southgate, will you marry me?" Mason opened the box to reveal the most gorgeous ring. "Yes." I cried. "A million times yes." Mason put the ring on my finger and kissed me passionately. He pulled away and we were both so happy.

"The mother of my child and now my gorgeous fiancé." Mason pecked my lips again. "The ring is perfect babe." I admired it. "Only the best for my girl. Now we can be the perfect family." He beamed.

I can't believe it. I'm engaged to THE Mason Mount and I'm carrying his child, it's like I'm living a dream.

Life couldn't get much better.
