I wish I could tell you
But not what I'm feeling now.
I wish I could tell you
How I was feeling days ago
Not tomorrow, nor yesterday
But in the weeks before the storm
When we were young
Madly in love and desperate
For a single touch.
I wish I could tell you
The deepest confessions inside my soul
The truths cloistered in the dark
The small nothings
The love I have for you.
But, it's too late now.
We've both grown up overnight,
Yet, you don't know it.
I do, and I wish I could tell you
That we'll be okay
But, it'll be the biggest lie,
Because it's no way back.
Nothing will be as it was.
