My Mistake

My mistake was loving you

Hiding you in deep dark moonlights

Unfolding you in my soul

Like a ripped apart paper plane

Who was never set to fly.

My mistake was sharing you

With a world that's not yet ready

To receive your torments

And part the good from the dead,

Never meant to stay.

My mistake was hiding you

Like a lover that never truly cared

To share more than just a kiss

In the pale blue death of the moon

Hidden far away.

My mistake was letting you rest

With your head on my aching heart.

But, you put your foot in the way

Never letting it beat even a second

Far in its existence.

My mistake was just being

Too naïve for your empty words

That only made me fall apart

Worlds away from the agony of now

Never meant to come back.
