Raindrops dripping from your face
Falling down on mine slowly.
You took my hand and said to me
'Don't leave me here in the rain.'Our clothes soaked in suffering
The world is all against us suddenly
Shattering our dreams to pieces
Left lingering to die in the rain. We're hopeless and lonely here
Two strangers in an unknown world
Far from peace, unable to dream
Still embraced in the rain.My suffering pierced my aching soul
Worse than a skyscraper kills a cloud
There's nothing else inside my ribcage
Other than some tears of the rain. You said to me we'll be alright again
But who can promise such things
When you don't know how crushing is
To cry alone in the rain.I make a promise to my turbid self
That I'll never let anything hurt me
Except for a quick thunderstorm
That shakes its clouds of the rain. The concrete is all wet and slippery
I'm in the city of lights but there's none
Because it suddenly started to rain
In the aching heart of New York.
