It rained through the night. As though the sky is crying, rain softly slips down the casement. They check in into the exquisite guesthouse with a panoramic view of Chao Phraya River around 8 at night.
Adam slid gracefully from the sofa to land lightly on the beanbag after he help everyone finished unloading their own stuffs from the Toyota Fortuner that they rent for this trip. He sinks like he falling into the snow on the beanbag.
" I think we should just order takeaway " He strikes a conversation with Putera.
Putera replied as he turns on the TV, " Sure, I will order for everyone " He opened the delivery apps in his phone." Can you ask Melur and Jasmine what did they want for dinner? "
" Okay " Adam groaned and went to the girls room to ask for the menu.
He then walks outside to the balcony on this double story guesthouse to meet Jafri " Dude, what do you want for dinner? "
" Anything is fine " Jafri replied without even spare a look to his friend.
" Hmm okay... " It's hard for Putera to watch the man who always enthusiast when the word food floating around the air in that state. He then just walked back inside house and encounter Jafri walking up the stair from downstairs.
" They want soupy kind of meal, they said to let you chose for them, and for me you can just order fried rice, " Jafri said as he took a seat on the beanbag.
" Consider it done " He clinked his tongue.
Food is the ultimate tranquilliser. Two eternal enemies can even reconcile after a scrumptious meal. Good food is the base of true happiness, but people cannot construct a foundation over a wetland because it would only sink. When it comes to humans, the same notion applies, if your emotions are badly shattered, there's nothing you can do to help the broken portion except the effort come from yourself.
After a 30-minute wait, five beef noodle soups and one fried rice were delivered. The group have a silent and quick dinner, perhaps still shaken by reality.
" It is so bizarre, I still cannot wrap this things on my head " Jasmine said while sipping his tea after finishing her meal.
" Same, The only sensible things that I can think of is that it was an accident " Adam joins the conversation.
" It is possible that she try to commit suicide? " Melur asked nervously. " The flower and the blood might be her own doing as a sign of goodbye to us "
" Right, I heard on the train that Putera said this flower is a graveyard flower of Malaysian " Jasmine turns their attention to Putera.
" Me-- oh--, yes, it just in our culture, people sprinkle this flower on newly buried graveyard " Putera stuttered at the sudden attention.
" So, what you're trying to say is that Sarah commit a suicide and left her bunker on that condition as a goodbye for us " Jafri stared at Putera demanding for an answer.
" No, I don't think so, its true suicidal thought can happen to almost everyone including the happiest person that you ever known, but... " He paused a second " When you were push to the edge to commit suicide there must be a trigger for that "
" Yes, I cannot think any possible trigger that might push her to that decision, she seems very happy and talkative when me and her spend time together before midnight " Melur backed Putera's assumption.
" So, we can eliminate the possibility that she commit suicide right? " Adam lightens up a little bit.
" Still, we cannot totally discard that possibility, mental illness is one of the hardest diseases to be diagnosed, but looking at the circumstances we can say that the possibility for her to commit suicide is small "
" Make sense... but what intrigue me at this moment is the recent and last footstep that were identified is at last gateway connector before we reached the engine space " Jafri pondered with his hand on his head.
" Wait, do you mean the place where we smoke before? " Adam shocked with the facts.
" Yup, Train Superintendent told me "
" Hmm, it is possible though to trace the footstep on steel floor when there's so many people step on the same spot, there must be so many footstep over there? " He asked to debunk the theory.
" I pondered that also " Jasmine convinced with Adam.
" It might not be possible before, but now police can use electrostatic dust print lifter to trace the shoes on any surface " He voice out his opinion. " I learnt this in my previous semester " He said it slowly while hiding his proud sensation inside.
" Yup I believe their credibility, but did you said not many passengers not know about this area Adam? " Jafri change his gaze to him.
" Yes but she might be one of the not many " Adam shrugged.
" Hmm, true... " Only that words came out from Jafri's mouth.
The amalgams of confusion and perturbation is for sure is not the finest ingredients for a restful night's sleep. While Jasmine, Melur, and Adam headed to their rooms to rest, the two of them remained in balcony. They appear to be vigorously playing with their brains, letting their imaginations and thoughts run wild.
" Have some sleep Jaf " Putera looks concerned with his friend's behavior. " You have been in this state since the dinner " Putera can only watched his friend just blankly looking at his phone for what seemed like an eternity. He only received a gushing wind response, and he understands that his friend requires some alone time. " I will be in my room first to sleep, don't remain outside for too long," he remarked as he rose and headed to his room.
" Why everyone are so composed with this situation " He suddenly opened his mouth.
Putera sighed " Everyone are freaked out inside right now, but we don't have any option except for waiting a good news from the police " He then brushed his friend's head, " I bet they want to join the authorities in the operation to find Sarah, but we're only going to be a burden as we will slowing them down "
" Just rest and let the police do their job " " Okay? "
Putera reassured his friend.
" Okay Put... " Jafri replied slowly while looking far away at the view outside. His self was still clouded by guilt. This sensation merely weakens his spirit, much as pain weakens his body.
" Sarah, where did you wander off? " Jafri can only speak in hushed tones to the breeze agonised with his feeling of culpability.
