"Pleeeaaaassseee can we get a puppy?!" the young girl, Charlotte begged as she tugged her mother's sleeve. Mark stood by, smiling with joy. He knew she was going to say yes now. He believed they had shown enough responsibility over the past two years to care for a dog. Now as they pass the animal shelter, the two are begging for one. Beatrice, their mother, gazed down at Charlotte and sighed.

"Well, you guys do take good care of the fish, and you haven't been behind on your chores or homework for a while. The twins' eyes widened. "I suppose…"

The kids had finally got what they wanted, a dog. They knew of their abilities, talking to animals, and summoning a few from the spiritual realm, but had never once spoken to a dog. They wanted one so badly to have as their best friend. After picking out a beautiful, flawless white puppy with black button eyes, they headed home.

"Buttons!"

"No, Blizzard!"

"Why don’t we just ask him?" Charlotte shrugged. Mark smiled and turned to the dog, who sat on the carpet, glaring at them.

"Well little guy? What do you want your name to be?" the dog's eyes turned purple, and he growled at them. Purple mist rose up from the ground, into a tall pillar. When it cleared, all there was, was a tall man with purple eyes and white hair. Charlotte screamed, and Mark grabbed her hand, dragging her away.

"I believe I already have a name, children." he smiled, stepping towards them.

"MOM!" Mark shouted, hugging his sister.

"I'm afraid she won't be interfering here. She tried to stop me, I had no choice." he shrugged. "No big deal really. I mean, did you really like all of her rules?"

"YOU MONSTER!" Mark shouted.

"Oh, I'm no monster. Trust me." he smiled and pulled out a sword. "I'll make this-" something slammed into the side of his head, knocking him down. He heard the children yelp, and there was silence. He opened his eyes and stood up immediately. He breathed out heavily. "WHO ARE YOU!" he screamed. His arms were shaking. There was clearly a bigger threat.
