7:30am
The sun had already crept over the small buildings, leaving the sky in a blue hue, one that made the town glow in the rays. Apartment buildings, small houses, shacks, a roundabout in the center of the streets with roads that could only fit so many cars and people, creatures, anybody just living their lives.
This was Old Skies town. Here, everybody knew eachother, it was rare for a face to be unrecognized. Anybody who wasn't known was outcasted, but that was a rare occurrence. The children knew other children and the adults knew from all ages to genders.
The families, friends and faces that inhabited Old Skies were all peaceful. Even those who were enemies had agreed to keep the peace in the town. If they were to fight, they would take the effort to leave the town themself to sort it out. As a result, the lack of violence had led to there being a lack of security. No cops needed to be called, because there was nothing wrong ever going on. It was a community, as if everybody was family with each other.
Amidst all the buildings stood a church, one that was dappled with whites and pinks. Not a lot of people had attended the church, but it was still quite known for the sweet woman who ran it, as well as her troublemaking children.. People would funnel in and out the church, be it for shelter, food, or to preach with the 'nuns.'
This occasion was only a little different. Someone tall and built slipped into the doors of the church, taking advantage of the sunroof hiding him a little.
Ruv had silently closed the door behind him, then sighing sharply, looking around the cloister. By the altar stood a woman with a magenta habit running down her back. She had turned her head at the sound of the door clicking closed, then exchanged a warm smile.
"Welcome home, love!" Sarvente chirped, stepping down from the altar and approaching him. They exchanged a brief kiss before Sarvente gave a slight look of worry.
"You were gone for quite a bit... Are you okay? Did you get what you needed?" She asked, a look of concern.
Ruv nodded. "Sorry I was gone overnight, I had to go out of town. But to answer your question," he lifted his arm, some blood on his jacket sleeve and a butcher knife with blood on it, "yes." He finished. It was a common occurrence that he would slip into the night to tack somebody off. He had always made sure it wasn't someone in town, lest the word spread like wildifre.
Sarvente's smile returned to her as she nodded, walking back to the altar. "You go get breakfast then, Selever's cooking. I'll be preparing the mass front here, but I'll be there shortly." She said, squatting infront of the altar and adjusting the flowers infront of it.
Ruv nodded, walking past her and padding into the hallway, turning to the kitchen.
His son stood by a countertop, cutting beets and avocado with a pan sizzling eggs beside him, meanwhile his daughter had been multitasking, reading a book and cleaning off the table for their breakfast. They both seemed very focused, Selever looking annoyed that he was on cooking duty and Rasazy seemingly invested in her book.
Rasazy was first to notice Ruv standing at the doorway, snapping her book closed and running to his arms.
"Papa's home!" She squeaked, giving him a big hug.
Selever turned his head, then rolled his eyes playfully. "Well look who returned after a whole night. Don't tell me you got woo'ed by anybody overnight behind mom's back now-" He jeered before he was cut off by Rasazy.
"Sel! Obviously papa had to travel far and back." She said, rolling her eyes.
Ruv put his hand on Rasazy's head, running his fingers through her hair as he huffed in amusement. He nodded, confirming her statement. "Had to head to Bloomfront District, so I was gone for quite a while... Not to mention hungry.." He shot a glare at Selever, one that made him groan.
