Sunday, November 6th

10:00am

A breeze was blowing through the foyer, one that made the chimes hanging from the ceiling ring happy tunes. It complemented well with the voices of the churchgoers. They sang merry tunes, exchanged prayers and lifted their voice to the heavens above.

Once all was said and done, the attendees fluttered their hymnals closed and placed them into the benches in front or behind them. They all began to funnel to the door, the adults dipping their heads as they left and the children holding origami crosses.

Ruv was tucked in a hallway behind the foyer, peeking out. He could see Sarvente collecting donations at the altar and Rasazy handing out missing flyers at the door as they exited. Just the bare fact that missing flyers were now something to be handed out instead of Mass event posters was eerie to him.

He watched each person leave, hearing happy chirps of 'thank you's and have a 'nice day.' As the last few people left, he stood up from where he was and padded to the foyer front. He then stopped.

Two pink-skinned individuals had slipped into the doors of the church. One had round, auburn hair with a thin build and another with dark lavender hair, much like Ruv's. The auburn haired woman had stopped at the door to speak with Rasazy while the seemingly built man immediately marched to Sarvente and tried to speak with her.

The woman had seemed much more calm as she and Rasazy chattered formally, but the man had more of a desperate cling in his tone, one that offput Ruv greatly.

He walked fully out of the hallway, his brows already furrowed, and stood by Sarvente. The man looked him up and down, inching back a little as Ruv seemingly loomed over him.

Sarvente gave a look of confusion before crooking her head up and seeing Ruv. "Hm? Oh, hello Ruvyzvat!" She greeted, smiling warmly.

His gaze softened only for a moment before looking back at the strange fellow "Who is this?" He asked suspiciously.

Sarvente parted her jaws to speak, but was swiftly cut off by the stranger.

"David Dearest to you, sir. You can call me Daddy Dearest or just Mr. Dearest." He answered, furrowing his brows back at Ruv. "My wife and I came here seeking help searching for our missing daughter. Have you seen her?" He asked.

Sarvente shook her head pensively. "No.. I haven't... My son may know something though, they both attend the same college. Would you like me to ask him?"

He nodded swiftly in response. "Please, any and every piece of info counts."

Sarvente nodded, turning around and disappearing into the hallway.

Ruv watched her leave, then turned his head back to Mr. Dearest, a skeptical look still on his face. The facial expression seemed mutual... He didn't know what about him offput him so much, but he felt as if he couldn't trust him. He sat down at the altar steps, not taking his eyes off of him. He had given off an energy that Ruv wasn't tolerating at all.

"What are you looking at, thief?" Dearest asked coldly. Yup. There was absolutely 0 trust between them.

"You're in Sarv's church, of course I want to keep an eye on anyone in here, much more someone the likes of you." Ruv spat back. "And I don't appreciate being called a thief. You say a lot for someone who throws a fit every time they don't get their way." He put his hands in his jacket pockets. Regardless of what was about to happen, he just wanted Sarv to come back to avoid anything happening in the first place.

"Curb your tongue, filth!" He growled, taking a step forward at Ruv.

Ruv wasn't fazed by this. He simply turned his head back up to him and stood up, also taking a step forward. "I'm trying to be civil for the sake of your daughter, you're making it really hard." He said lowly, his accent thick with frustration.

Mr. Dearest seemed to wearily look around the room. "For the sake of my daughter." He parroted, narrowing his eyes before going to sit on a nearby bench, still locked eyes on Ruv.

There was a long, hostile silence before groaning was heard from the hallway.

"It's Sunday morning... I don't gotta move until 2pm..." Selever groaned, being pushed out the hallway by Sarvente. He seemed to be interrupted while sleeping as he was only wearing a tank top and long pants with his hair ruffled.

She rolled her eyes as she picked him up by his arms, a smirk on her face. Once he had started kicking and screaming like a 4 year old, Sarvente finally dropped him and guided him to the foyer.

"Jeez, rough much?!" He whined, rubbing his shoulder.

Ruv huffed in amusement, getting up to stand by Sarvente again, willing to hear the conversation.

"Hello, young man... Do you happen to know about what happened to your classmate Demitri?" Mr. Dearest asked, walking up to Selever.

He pondered for a moment. "I saw two kids hovering around her desk? The blue haired kid and the ginger? They seemed really fucked up about it." He explained, shrugging, then swatting away Sarvente's hand who reached over to pinch him for swearing.

Mr. Dearest growled, furrowing his brows. "She's always hanging around those kids... Convenient they don't know what happened..." He clenched his fist. "Thank you.." He shot a look back up at Ruv, who also furrowed his brows in response. "Watch your backs... You wouldn't want anyone to get hurt now.." He simply said.

"We'll be alright, sir.." Sarvente stepped in before anything went wrong.

Rasazy and the lady had reapproached, Rasazy stepping to her brother's side and the lady to her husband.

"I didn't get much info.." She told Mr. Dearest.

"I got a lead... We'll be going now. Thank you for your time." He answered, taking his wife's hand and walking out the church.

There was brief silence.

"Pa you looked like you were going to tear someone apart.." Selever snickered a bit. "He wasn't looking at mom, was he?"

Ruv spun his head and shot an angry glare at him. "I don't trust him..." He said coldly.

"You don't trust anyone..." Rasazy jeered timidly, raising a brow.

Ruv didn't answer, just kept his eyes on the door as they left the parking lot in their... long limo... and huffed, turning around. "Whatever... I still don't trust him..." He simply said, disappearing into the hallway.

Rasazy and Selever simply looked at eachother and shrugged, while Sarvente sighed and followed him.

This was gonna be a rough couple of days...

A/N- Fun fact, this chapter almost made me abandon BR as it took me a whole month and a half to write ;; I'm glad I picked it up again though

Usual thanks to Temp and Choco for being beta readers, unfortunately however, I wasn't able to find an artist for this chapter in time so it will go without one :(
The next 2 chapters have their art ready though! And be prepared, this is the last time you'll see them happy, I'm just saying ;)
